Nice panel sequence and use of white space, which seem to highlight the hopeless sense of being in the middle of nowhere. Good storytelling.

ACK!  I really gotta read this whole series!  New Year's Resolution (thanks, Rick! :) )!  Great work by William here - love the white space at the top, and how the panels (and design of the bottom of the page) is stacked to lead the reader's eye gracefully and gently to the prospector's finger pointing you to the page turn.  A really lovely and well-engineered page, plucked right from the era that your mighty collection specializes in.  Fantastic grab, Rick!  Happy New Year!
