Description

Apparently Adam Hughes got sick during the show, as he was unable to appear in Sunday. But he was signing and chatting on Saturday, along with Allison Sohn. Here they were discussing some of the odd choices for statue pieces made by marketing departments. For instance, that Mary Jane drawing visible in front of Allison (MJ is washing the Spidey suit) was NOT chosen to be made into a statue, nor was one of MJ wearing Spidey's top as a nightshirt. Fun stuff you learn at cons.

I think you might have mis-understood. The Mary Jane folding Spideys laundry (not washing it) has been made into a statue... over at Sideshow: http://www.sideshowtoy.com/cgi-bin/category.cgi?item=68181

OK, cool! BTW, is that particular piece available as a print, or was it published anywhere, or was it just done as statue reference? I think it's a terrific shot!

I believe a print comes with the statue (according to Sideshow).

Yeah, I didn't realize that MJ statue that's being advertised on the right hand side of CAF (as of the last couple weeks, anyway) is the one from this drawing. Wasn't planning on getting a statue, never clicked on it. Probably wrong again, but now that I clicked on it to see if you do get a print, it looks like you get a print of B&W pencil studies by AH. Nice, but that full color piece is beautiful!

Wow! Looking at this picture, it seems more and more that Allison has turned into "The Face" for Adam's female work. Way to go, Allison! You've seeped into his "soul"! Can a marriage proposal be far behind??? :P
