Description

This is one of a few paintings by Hunt that don't quite seem to fit with what one would expect to find in nature. Did someone just happen to set their mug down in the dirt, put their sprig of holly in it, and then drop the grapes they were eating while trying to put the mug down? Similarly, the Orange Reflected in a Silver Pitcher in the Manchester City Art Gallery is hard to explain as something one encounters in reality.
