Description

17 Characters on this cover, many major players in the X-Men pantheon. There is tension in the air. Larocca's slightest stroke on the face of each of X-Men sets the tone and we all know judgment day is upon Mystique. Reminds me of an Old Testament allegory brought to life in a fresco on the walls of a medieval Italian Cathedral.

One of my favorite X-covers from this era. I think I know what you mean by the cover reminding you of a fresca from a cathedral. Mystique is on trial by mutant judges and jury members. There's a sacrifice waiting to happen. Blood begets blood of its like.
