Description

Stan Lynde is best known for his long-running strip "Rick O'Shay" which he founded and did for about twenty years. Subsequently, he did other strips. This one, "Chief Sly Fox" was only published in the Swedish magazine "Fantoman" and in it's Norwegian and Finnish versions. Some CSF's were done in the 1980's but were all published between 1997 and 2002, a total of 86 strips. According to Wikipedia, it has never been published in English. So, it is possible that this is the first time a "Chief Sly Fox" strip has been viewable to the public in English. (The Ebay posting I bought this on was too small for the text to be readable.)

Showing a shyster Indian, it probably had political correctness problems. This page shows that Lynde hasn't lost his touch or his distinctive style. The third and sixth panels especially scream "Lynde" even when viewed in thumbnail.

I was really sorry that Stan and his syndicate couldn't get together on Rick O'Shay until long after the strip died. I got him to do a 'Christmas in Conniption' scene for me that you can see here. He still does great work.

I agree with you panels 3 and 6. When I saw this on the thumbnail, I remarked that "Mini-skirt" was classic Stan.
