For those that didn't know, this comic book accompanied the Atari vidogame Swordquest Fireworld. Through the course of the game, you would gather clues which pointed towards panels in the comic book which contained hidden words. To win the game, you had to put together the winning phrase and submit it to Atari. If you one of the first people to submit the winning phrase, you were invited to California to compete in a head-to-head competition to win a jeweled sword. I remember comibing through this book looking for the hidden words. It was a lot easier than trying to acutally make sense of the game. Spot the hidden word on this page - "To"!

Correction - this contest was actually for the "The Chalice Light" - made of gold and platinum and was adorned with citrines, diamonds, green jade, pearls, rubies, and sapphires. It was valued at $25,000 at the time of the contest. It allegedly still exists and is owned by the original winner. There is actually a website that has all three comics that were produced for Atari. http://www.tripoint.org/sq/sq.html. There was supposed to be a fourth comic, but as far as I know, it was never produced. I would assume Perez would remember if he ever drew it!
