Description

Binky's Buddies was possibly DC's last attempt to horn in on the Archie-style teen humor comic market. It included the talents of Win Mortimer and Henry Scarpelli with some attempt to be hip. Binky is not the hottie, it's the whiney guy behind her. The hottie is Peggy, who doesn't sizzle anywhere near this much anywhere else in the issue.

I got this for under $30 because the top part was ripped off. I restored it for this display using the comic itself. The line between the actual art and the restoration is visible, it runs from the surfer's armpit to just at the very top of Peggy's head to the forehead of the blonde on the far right.

I'm basing my guess as to which artist did what on what they did on another Binky story. Scarpelli later became a fixture at Disney and Win Mortimer is best known, in my mind, for his Superman work, dating back to at least the early Silver Age.
