Original Guardian of the Galaxy Vance Astro (with Captain America's shield) returns to the Marvel Universe in a scene that mirrors Captain America's revival in Avengers #4.

One of the earliest gags in the 2008 series was Rocket Raccoon trying to come up with a name for his team. As depicted on this artwork, Vance suddenly appeared introducing himself as Major Victory of the Guardians of the Galaxy. Rocket liked how that sounded and stole the name for the current-era team!

This artwork was also used for Major Victory's profile in Avengers: The Ultimate Character Guide.
