Description

Though Grant Morrison's take on the characters was cooler, I've always thought that Chris Claremont was the definitive X-Men writer. In this Claremont story, Logan did not have his adamantium skeleton and was defeated by Sabretooth who had that advantage. He survived, though, with Shadowcat's help. In this page, Wolverine masquerades as Captain America and takes down a combined troop of Hydra members and Hand assassins. At the end of this story (and its a pretty convoluted one), Matsuo Tsurayaba, leader of the Hand, is defeated; Viper, by virtue of being Wolverine's wife, becomes the ruler of Madripoor; and Sabretooth hates Logan even more (big surprise there!). This page was done in 2001 and there's the added bonus of "Superman" and "Dr. Manhattan" head sketches by Lienil on the back!
