Description

This Vampirella piece started out as a bit of inking practice, but I also wanted to take the opportunity to pay tribute to the guy who was one of my main reasons for wanting to become an artist: Jose Gonzalez.

Gonzalez quickly became what many consider the greatest Vampirella artist that ever lived and it's simply insane how good his work still is - I'd go as far as to say he was one of the greatest artists to have ever worked in comics.

Only just before finishing this piece did I find out that Mr Gonzalez passed away the month before.

So here's my tribute.

The streched arm with bat directly made me think of his trademark Vampirella doorposter.
