Description

JLE turned out to be what was what we now call a 'maxi-series' as it ran for only 12 issues. I'm not sure if it was intended to be an ongoing but there you have it. What we have here is Wonder Woman vs Eve and Manchester Black vs The Martian Manhunter. Eve was a great looking character and scarily powerful - as Diana finds out. She was an ancient Goddess who sought to control the universe (don't they always ?) and ended up embedded in the source wall. She immediately killed the man who freed her but took a shine to Manchester Black, who used her to play with reality. Oh, just to confuse the issue further it's not really Manchester Black, but his sister, Vera Lynn. I won't explain further other than to say JLE 1-12, written by Joe Kelly, is well worth the read.
