Description

I think Don Heck remains one of the most under-appreciated artists of the Atlas/Marvel Age. I’ve always loved his work, especially his non-super hero work. Like with Gene Colan, Heck was the perfect artist for the Iron Man comic and its heavy-on the-non-super-hero scenes.

Want to see more under-appreciated Don Heck? Take a look at his early 1980s work on the DC Comics WONDER WOMAN series; very loose, inked himself, and much more dynamic. Too bad those issues were marred with the then flexo-graphic-press and its inability to keep the color within the lines.
