Description

Good story for this one: Back when Gaiman and McKean did the Mr. Punch graphic novel they did a signing tour at book stores in the U.S. I was in college at the time and saw the ad and knew I had to go b/c I had been reading Sandman and following all that Gaiman did at that point. I made the drive from SC to Atlanta and had too good of a time that night before the signing: I met some interesting people, ate at a great Italian place I'll never be able to find again, indulged in too much fun and by the end of the night couldn't find my car for a few hours.... Being a college student, I couldn't afford a hotel so I ended up sleeping in the parking lot of the bookstore where the signing was taking place-in a 2-door Geo Metro, the smallest of small cars!!! Woke up, brushed my teeth in the bookstore bathroom, got right in line and met two of the nicest creators in Neil and Dave! Watching Neil sketch out the Dream King here on this special edition Sandman #50 was a real treat for me and the end of a great experience.
