Karate Kid vs. Karnak by Ian Richardson and Simon Gough

Simon Gough, who colors some of my commissions, had some of Ian’s pieces in his gallery which I really liked. Their Judge Dredd collaboration in particular blew me away. Simon suggested I contact Ian about a Karate Kid commission and so I sent him a list of possible opponents. Ian picked Karnak. I love the facial expressions in this one, with Val Armorr looking like he’s losing his temper in this fight and Karnak looking calm as ever. Thanks again for the stellar work, Ian!

Both Karnak and Val have a talent for finding the weak spots in things. Karnak is stronger, more durable and faster than a human but Val knows more fighting styles. So this fight would be pretty fun. Ultimately I think Val would take Karnak down, but afterwards I think they’d meditate together.

I was wondering when you would get to this commission and it was well worth the wait.
