Description

All-Star Squadron JSA splash page grail. To me no other splash from the series compares, even though there were a bunch of excellent ones.

From a great issue early in the run. Strange book in a way, as the first half featured nothing but a huge group of heroes flying and having overly chatty [sorry Roy :)] conversation.

I think Buckler modeled this page after Neal Adams' classic Superman 252 cover.

Ordway's inks on the first year or 2 of All-Star Squadron were amazing. Some of my own personal favorite and fondly remembered inking of all-time.

Wanted Buckler/Ordway All-Star Squad art from the preview in JLA 193 and issue #4: I beg of you don't sell yourself short, please come to me if you have them as I will pay top dollar.

Yeah, sometimes we collectors pay more for art than common sense dictates, and, also, Roy let the dialogue get a bit thick at times, but, wow, this splash has a bit of the stuff dreams are made of. Congratulations.

I remember my father bringing this home along with a stack of other comics when I was a kid. I read this comic multiple times, marveling at the art. To see the splash in its original form is a treat for me. Thank you for sharing, and congratulations on acquiring your Grail. As for the amount you paid for it, I can tell you that when you get the page you've been seeking for a long time, the sacrifice is worth it in the end. Hold onto this page, my friend...
