Alright, this is a really cool page!

Batman Son of the Demon page 4 (DC, 1987) original artwork by the super-talented Jerry Bingham. This landmark book was the very first superhero GN that DC ever published and remains one of the most famous and influential to this very day. A commercial and critical success and so highly touted and beloved by readers and collectors alike. A true masterpiece is storytelling and illustration.

This tense scene depicts one of my favorite panels in the entire book as a sadistic thug terrorizes a young pregnant woman (panel 1) by carving the letter Q on her cheek and then, without warning, is cold-clocked by the Batman who is lurking in the shadows just waiting to take out the entire terrorist team one by one. Super-charged with tense energy and emotion, a testament to Mike W. Barr's writing and Bingham's wonderful layout and rendering.

Bingham penciled this page and then painstakingly inked it with a quill pen, just like the masters did in ye' olden days-dip and ink, dip and ink, etc. The attention to detail and extremely fine line-work is a sight to behold.
