Prépubliée dans le journal Spirou n°1200 en 1960.

Cette planche nous montre ici certaines des limites et faiblesses de Benoît Brisefer qui, bien qu’étant doté de super-pouvoirs, n’en a pas moins besoin de sommeil. Tout au long des albums de la série, le thème du sommeil sera souvent repris afin de ralentir le rythme de la narration et de l’action et d’attirer plus encore la sympathie des lecteurs. Sont ici présents tous les principaux protagonistes de l’histoire, Benoît Brisefer, le directeur des Taxis Rouges Monsieur Poilonez, le gardien de parc, un taxi rouge et divers conducteurs de ces mêmes taxis. Le premier strip est exceptionnel, tout entier consacré à Benoît Brisefer, le second est centré sur les « mauvais » de l’histoire, les deux derniers montrent un Benoît Brisefer très pertinent dans sa faculté de jugement, présent dans chaque case. Les décors urbains réalisés par Will sont à nouveau très discrets et ne font que mettre en valeur le dessin de Peyo et l’expressivité de son héros.

This strip shows us some of the limits and weaknesses of Benoît Brisefer who, although possessing super powers, still needs to get his sleep. Throughout the albums in this series, the theme of sleep would often be used to slow down the rhythm of the action and to gain thesympathy of readers. Here we can see all of the protagonists of the story, Benoît Brisefer, the director of the red cabs Mr. Poilonez, the park warden, a red taxi and various drivers of these cabs. The first strip is exceptional, and is entirely dedicated to Benoît Brisefer, the second focuses on the “baddies” in the story, the last two showing a very accurate Benoît Brisefer in his judgement, as seen in each panel. The urban surroundings as illustrated by Will are once more very discreet and only serve to emphasise Peyo’s illustrations and the expressions of his heroes.
