Description

Strike Squadron, 17 1/2 x 14 1/2 (445 x 370), Published in April 1972, reprinted in April 1977 WPL1340, and BPL 1689, August 1984. The story is a reprint of WPL84, which had a cover by Alessandro Biffignandi. It was also use as a cover for Battle Picture Monthly No. 5, with the stories, Beyond The Rhine, Top Brass Target, Pipeline To Peril. This artwork has been in the wars, having been restorted three times. Once by Fleetway, late 70's early 80's repair the top left hand corner. But this set it up for the next one, see "THE ART OF WAR" page 325, there a pice of hard board on its back and when "stored a way" the weight of the artwork above it, damage it. When I got, this had been painted out and also the piece flying off the deck was remove from the pinting. Now it has been restored, the third time and I hope the last. Note the fine detail of the Spitfire and Zero, top right.
