DescriptionFor me, this will always be the best Lee/Kirby/Sinnot FF story arc. The idea of Dr. Doom acquiring all the powers of the Silver Surfer is Silver Age Marvel magic at it's best. I've been waiting for the right page from this most cherished story to present itself for YEARS and this one is just about perfect. Love that 3rd panel of Dr. Doom especially.Social/Sharing |

What can I really say here except I believe this is the first time I've actually drooled on myself since I was 4 years old. You're blessed!

Holy Hannah? Holy Crap is more like it! Doom's dialog on the page is worth the price of admission all by itself, but the art ain't too shabby either! :c) That there is perfection. Congrats, Scott.

I agree with you Scott. That story arc was the best FF story arc ever! I also agree that the third panel is the best on the page!

Congrats, Scott. My favorite team in comics history here. The power of Kirby's pencil with the grace of Sinnott's inks.

Good grief! That is INCREDIBLE! (More deserving of that adjective than the Hulk, even.) I have never even read that full arc, so this page is new to me. Seeing Doom on a silver surf board is both wrong and wild all at once. Love the composition and especially the inking! All those "shock lines" in every panel are the stuff of my brush ruling nightmares...as an inker, Scott, that's gotta make you respect Joe even more. MAJOR CONGRATS!

One of the top storylines of the Silver Age. Sinnott was just developing the perfect inking over Kirby's powerful pencils. Beautiful.

Even before I read your description, that third panel caught my eye. The whole page screams Kirby/Sinnott, but that Doom panel, wow, that just kills! Congrats man!

Good Lord! Amazing stuff! What an art team!! I gained even more respect for Joe as a complete artist 20 years ago when I finally got a copy of the vintage BEATLES comic he did back in the day for Dell. Such awesome likenesses and gorgeous art!!

Skrakk! Brok! indeed! Great example of the finest Trio (hey, let's give Stan a little credit) ever to work in comics! I like.

Scott, just idling through images and I land on this gem in your superb collection. The work on this page seems to reference the amazing pace of ideas and visual energy Jack was outpouring at break neck speed at this time..the best of the best!
