Here is another recent pickup, and it's a beautifully painted and very life-like piece featuring Jayne Cobb, the wise cracking "muscle" of Firefly/Serenity. He likes his guns big, explosions bigger, and his women easy:) I was a huge fan of the show and then the movie, so this was a cool piece I had to get when I saw it.

I have been wanting a Jason Palmer original painting for years, ever since I discovered his work at SDCC 2008. I came across his booth and was blown away by the paintings and even the prints he had for sale. I was pretty broke by that point of the con and so I was only able to get a sketchbook. It had fantastic images from Star Wars, Serenity/Firefly, and more. I believe this image was in that sketchbook, but I could be wrong. I have moved since then and cannot find my sketch books to verify, so if anyone knows for sure or has it to check, please do let me know. (It is his 2008 sketch book with Inara from Serenity on the cover.) Regardless of whether this was published in the sketchbook or not, he does sell it as one of his prints so it is published. (see scan below) But I love it and do hope to get some of the other Serenity characters he's done, especially Inara, River, and Kaylee:)

The page is roughly 15x20 with the art itself measuring about 10x16, and is acrylic on a light blue paper.

This is an awesome piece. I'm a big fan of Jason Palmer and Serenity as well. Can't believe I've not seen this in your gallery before - you been buying so much it's hard to keep up ! :-)
