Description

I purchased this one from Sergio at an Orlando Megacon back in 1995 when it was still held in the Bob Carr Expo Center. The worst set-up for dealers to load/unload I have ever seen, but that's another story. Anyway, I was delighted to get this one, but the episode also allowed me to witness one of the greatest explanations of "Pricing" by an artist I have ever heard... A guy in line in front of me buys a sketch for his son after giving Sergio a little info about what he would like it to be. They agree on the price which as I recall was 25 bucks. Sergio starts to work and does a really nice job on a piece in about 5 MINUTES. I am talking a QUALITY sketch here, not a scribble. The guy picks it up and says (I believe this is an exact quote), "You have some nerve charging 25 dollars for 5 minute's work!" Sergio, smiling, calmly replies, "Sir, your are not paying 25 dollars for 5 minutes work -- you are paying 25 dollars for the 25 years of practice it took me to be able to draw a picture like that in just 5 minutes...." True Story... And it makes perfect sense...

This one was pre-done when I got to his table, but I watched him do similar quality drawings in about 10 minutes! Ask around, and most people will confirm that Sergio is FAST !
