I love that Kirby tosses off an idea in the first two panels (the Hounddog) that I totally don't remember but it's utterly cool and seems like it should work. Great design on that thing -- sort of like if the Celestials had a pet snail. Then that last panel -- both how it's drawn and what it's saying. It's amazing. Thank you -- the 1970s Cap run is so WEIRD sometimes it takes single pages to show how great it also was.

I just reread that run last month and I have no memory of the Hounddog! We just take continual unlimited invention for granted with Jack. That group of citizens in panel five seem positively Un-American in their craving for authority. The underground Aristocrat-ruled society in MadBomb was an idea that I thought Kirby didn't flesh out as well as he might have. It had a later echo in the Darius Drumm cult from Silver Star, perhaps. But I digress from saying how cool this page is!
