Description"The Birth of Marvel's Greatest Villain" - Marvel.I'm extremely excited to get this powerful 3 piece gatefold cover masterpiece directly from Billy Tan. I was lucky to snatch this up before anyone else did. In this story DD becomes dark and dangerous but I don't want to spoiI anything else if you haven't read it. I thought Andy Diggle was brilliant in creating this storyline for DD, leading him in taking over the hand (ok so I spoiled a little). I like to see that DD is in control and is able to take down anyone who gets in his way. I wish this story would have lasted a bit longer. If I counted correctly there are 12 main characters and 10 ninjas (correct me if I'm wrong). Have fun counting the arrows, daggers and ninja stars stuck in every main character. I like how Billy detailed the handle of the sword stuck in Iron Fist, Wolverine pulling the arrow out of his neck, Ghost Rider with an arrow in the eye and Bullseye got it pretty bad as well. It appears to take place on the rooftop of a church which gives it a nice cathedral theme. I think the cross that Spidey is leaning on gives it a nice touch. IMO Billy really knocked this out of the park. The Cover Date is September 2010 Big Thanks to Billy Tan for making this possible. Unreal Addition - The work put in this piece is Astounding! Shadowland might be the pinnacle of Billy Tan's work, and the load of characters he fit in on those 3 pieces, each all highly detailed, is Incredible. A Definite Grail.

Wow oh wow, this is one of the most epic covers I have ever seen and the amount of characters & detail level here is insane! From the characters expressions to the incredible environment, no minor detail is missed and so much is conveyed visually right off! Huge, huge congrats on this grail worthy addition! Outstanding score!

Amongst many other things, I like the fact that the ninjas bring their 手 (Hand) banners along with them.

I really liked the idea behind the story but the execution iteself, not so much. That being said this is a truly exceptional cover :)

This was such a great series and I agree Diggle did a wonderful job making DD the dark figure he always had brewing inside. This is for sure "the" piece from the series and one of the most memorable modern DD pieces! Major congrats.

This piece is unbelievably impressive and brilliant. The setting alone shows such creativity and the detail of every character is exceptional. Every crevise has something interesting to look at, I find something new I missed everytime I look. Excellent find on this, it is absolutely stunning.
