DescriptionI loved Akira. Still blows me away and this movie is over 25 years old. I love Miyazaki and tolerate Disney but no one has come close to surpassing this masterpiece. One of the most enduring images from this movie was Kaneda's bike. He was a main character but I'd argue elements like the city and his bike were equally important. Here is one of several commissions I have had done. This one by Nick Pitarra. I met Nick long before he was famous and this is from a time when he was either still in art school or had just finished. |
