DescriptionI am noy very happy about the inking. This could have been better. But its always good to see how does it fare. Thanks for the visit. Tell me what is wrong in this if you figured out......I would like if someone can color this and post... . This is why it was replaced..................................................................... There were comments that they prefered the pencil. It was clear that I have lost a lot while inking. One said about the original...."The inked version seems more stark black and white, while the pencil version, to my eye, is more pleasing in the tones."-in http://groups.yahoo.com/group/johnbuscema/message/6505 I picked the idea that I should try to follow the feel I have with the pencil. In last night and this morning I tried to find out what. When I directlly inked -without pencil lines- the croquil pen flew well. I tried the same motion with penciled drawings and it went very well. A major reason for my failier, I realized -was I have been used to fiber felt-tip sketch pens for a long time. Recently thought of using the Croquill pen for inking. I got some fine nibs from USA (and found few old ones with me). I liked the beautiful lines. With felt tip pen I placed the nib on paper and pulled it any which way I wanted. But with the crowquill nib there is only one way to use it. Then it provides a beautiful line and so easy to move. I had troubles using it because I used it the way I used to move the felt tip pens. I inked with the Crowquil pen a monsters face on a discarded photocopy of the penciled page -Jungle Girl & Conan inked 14- following the pencil tones. (at http://www.comicartfans.com/GalleryRoom.asp?GSub=0&GCat=1&UCat=8718 ) It came out well. I replaced the original page with this. Old one is now at . And a comparison of old and new faces at http://www.comicartfans.com/GalleryRoom.asp?GSub=30055. |
