I love this time period in design and pop culture, the psychedelic 60's were over but the funky 70's had begun! Such fun and fitting subject matter for Manix's style of creative storytelling.

I love how Kirby infused so much of himself into so many of his characters. He truly poured his heart and soul into these pages which makes images like this totally special and reflective in their own right. And it's just plain badass!

When I saw this piece I think my jaw might have actually dropped! I love the unique mixing of lines styles and influences. This is the first cover of J. Gonzos I've seen but I know it won't be the last. The dia de Los muertos sugar skull, religious iconography and pop-art fuse beautifully and is a perfect fit for one of the dopest new characters of the last 10 years. Thanks for sharing this and congratulations to you for the awesome acquisition and your friend for his first Marvel cover! ¡Salud!

All credit due to Mr. Abrera for pulling this off and as you said Marcus, subjectively no other 375 homage that comes to mind has been as creative and faithful as Manix's here. His playful style combined with attention to even the smallest details delivers a levity that reminds me of why commissions can be such an enjoyable part of collecting.

I think it says a lot about an artist when even people who already have commissions by them are jealous of others commissions, you know? Like your Parable piece, wow man, I seriously love that thing! Manix deserves all the praise and admiration he receives.

They say "all's well that ends well" but I bet they never had a piece or original art go missing for a year! Man, I am beyond excited that this finally, miraculously found its way home. I can't imagine the relief and joy having this in your hands must bring. If only these boxes could talk!

I agree. As someone who hails from the PNW as he did, his "Salish Geek" style was something I would've been proud to add to my collection; unfortunate he only worked digitally but his legacy will always live on and hopefully inspire others like him. 

I did not know that Jeffery Veregge had passed away, very sad to hear as his work was poignant and a gave us a proudly unique representation of Native American culture. Fitting that this piece would be a tribute to him. Stunning figure-work; the water colors give it a natural look. Yo Joe!

Like you, Tradd reinvigorated my love of reading comics. This page is a fantastic representation of his expansive creativity. I mean, the "BONG" is so massive, it literally doesnt fit the boundaries of the page.

Fabulous, incredible, gorgeous page. There were so many to choose from but this was in my top 3, congrats! While I understand where FM is coming from, as I love that particular style/era of Tradd (and desperately hope to someday obtain a Venom 150 page) I also agree that Tradd's evolution is fascinating to watch, DSFS not withstanding. Tradd's art has always been bold in it's execution. He has always taken risks and played with the medium in ways that mystified and downright confused many people into simply ignoring him which I attribute to be a burdon of his genius. I love that Tradd uses each project to explore new territories on the page; while I have my favorites as well, I always find myself anxiously anticipating his next move. IMO we are all lucky to have a front row seat to a modern master in the making.

There is awesome and there is dazzling. This is the latter. While art is in the eye of the beholder, it's almost sad to me that more of it doesn't give me the fun and whimsical feelings that I used to get reading comics as much as Mannix's pieces do. I guess that just speaks to how unique his work is, congratulations on a truly unique piece.
