Still, an interesting story and had hopes that I'd find other related pages.  I did but, they sold for more than I wanted to pay so this might be headed to the For Sale bin.

I don't think he did any inking or what little he did, was obliterated by who went over it. 

If Alcala inked this, he did it in the back of a van going back and forth over railroad tracks.

Very surreal imagery and love the subtle differences in color pallette between the two.  Enough to set the separation of two different characters but keep them together in the art.

This is such an incredible page as it stands, but the size of it must make it a requirement to see in person.  Party at Rubens!  Rarely, do artists get firearm depictions correct but not in this case.  The details are spot on.  The early Batman was opposite of what he is known for.  He originally carried a Colt .45.  It sure would be nice to see him burn off a 50 round drum in a following panel but this is good enough.  This is grail material.

Yes, it is goauche.  You are absolutely right about Elson's work.  It has a transcendent quality to it.  Peter thought of each painting as a special part of him.  Were it not for his untimely passing, he never would have sold a single of his works.  It is a great privelige to own one of his original works.  Your piece is fantastic!

I don't know how but the Silver Surfer looks 3D, as if he's flying off the page, leaving the others behind.  Great addition!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not familiar with the series but the page shows incredible merits on just the beautiful inking and how it preserved the delicate nature of the pencils, rather than the usual obliteration of it.

Meltzer did many amazing pieces that are hard to trace.  This is one and LOVE the pallette!!  How large is it?

Thanks Ruben.  He didn't do much and even less, all on his own.  Most work was in the Horror genre.  It's a shame because he had a unique style and great command of shading.  Seeing that he still lives in the Philippines, my guess is that immigrating to the U.S. didn't happen and so his career in comics here, just never took off.  Here is what I know...

Gamboa was most active in the US comics scene between 1973 and 1977, during which he worked exclusively on DC’s horror anthology comics. He is crediting with penciling and/or inking 14 DC horror shorts in all.

Incredible shadowing of the eyes under the helmet rim.  You can feel the tanks coming with that same anticipation in the last ambush scene in Saving Private Ryan!  Super congratulations you got the whole story!  And it was in such pristine condition!  The art is stunning!

My Tae Kwon Do instructor was the Korean National Champion and a 9th degree Black Belt.  I saw him do things that defied the laws of physics.  He was short but like Yoda.  You would never want to get into a fight with him.  I'll never forget his advice, though.  "I cannot stop bullets".

One of the greatest, rarest and most impressive pieces I've seen added on CAF in a long time.  Wow, Bill!!!!!  Just WOW!

The architecture, darkness and somber mood of this work is perfect for Perkins' magical, otherwordly talent.  As a hard-core Batman-iac, I am definitely not fond of his protrayal of Batman with the long ears in other pages, but Perkins once again, has shown that his style is immediately recognizable, and his dramatic inking looks like a photo out of Ansel Adams portfolio.  Great one, Ruben!

Whoah!  Missed this when you added it!!  My phone almost ran out of memory to get to the end of the comments.  I don't know how long it took to ink this but judging from the cross-hatching, WEEKS!!!  It's INCREDIBLE!  And none of it shows in the published piece which is why these originals are so impressive!

Congratulations Rick, for checking off a very important box in your collection!  Your own art is truly impressive!
