Hi Marcus. Yeah, it could either be that or a Latin American Spanish language version of its Marvel counterpart.  A few years back did actually locate the comic issue it featured in. If my memory serves me correctly, think it was listed on a South American version of ebay. Sadly wasn't able to contact the seller though. They were asking a huge price for the comic too. Sadly I was unable to contact the seller for them to confirm if the art featured. Pretty difficult comic to source. Nice art though, although I've never seen an overlay in wax paper coloured used? 🤔

Hi Marcus. It's funny, usually  it's Tom doing the bullying, so much so, even his nose is picking on him now, which is ironic seeing he usually picks on it. True story.  I once was assaulted by a flounder. I had the last laugh though when it picked on the wrong person and got battered. Must have had a chip on its shoulder? Anyhoo, it got a salt & pepper sprayed and portioned by the police.  😫🐟(((((

Hi Marcus. Yeah, Tom was really naughty in this story but still was rewarded with a slap-up feast. I suppose it's Christmas after all, and we are told to turn the other cheek, well unless there's a power cut and both cheeks are frozen to the sofa. That aside. This reminds me a little bit of the classic 1983  Christmas Story and the snowball fight involving the bullies.

Hi again Marcus. Yes, I must admit I did need sunglasses to view the art. The colours are so vibrant I was temporarily blinded. Bubblegum pink comes to mind. The colours used makes the page literally glow. A sight to behold. And If as a 90s kid wanted to bunk off lessons, say , to eat a Snickers bar or have a cheeky smoke with friends under the school stage, could use the comic as a flashlight to guide your way. Why think outside the box when you can happily eat and smoke in it.

Hi Marcus. Funny you should mention cringey  soap operas. Red Dwarf's Androids strip is reminiscent of SNL's hilarious  Californians skit where the Android men oil their surfboards, including their nuts & bolts , ready to catch those tubular waves dude , as the women have their big ends lifted,  oil changed, who sit around chatting about girly things while eating fat free cookies.

It reminds me of Back to the future 2 scene when Marty goes into the future to save his son and sees all those flying cars whiz by. Not sure if checking the oil will be a thing though? Hi Marcus. Yes, the panel's huge. Very eyecatching I think. Like a page in its own right. And if you notice, there's a pattern appearing with these Tom Thug pages. As a teenager he's very active, not like today's whippersnappers who are glued to their TVs playing  PS5s , or its equivalent in 1993, likely an abacus or a hoop with a stick, where he's outside, wind in his hair, whizzing around like a fart in jacuzzi.

Hi Marcus. Yeah, I suppose you're right. Idle hands.... , well you know the old saying. Oddly enough when it snowed was a blessing in disguise for me as child in school. See, I got bullied for being small & pale looking, and often had the upper hand as the bullies couldn't see me, although there was a downside to my genius, as I was often caught when they did snow angels or wrote in the snow using yellow ink being the only virgin patch of snow left with freckles.

Funnily enough, the subjectmatter of this Tom Thug page reminds me of the classic 1983  A Christmas Story movie where Ralphie is constantly pursued by school bullies and the part where there's a snowball fight, not forgetting the classic tongue being stuck to the lamppost scene. Hi Marcus. Yeah, 1978 remember it well. You can tell it influenced Dicky Howett strip. In reality both Superman & Supermum are cut from the same cloth. Ones from Krypton, the other, Clacton. And although Superman flies around saving damsels in distress with his y-fronts over his leotard, Supermum has a shammy leather , a can of lemon sparkle , and works 9 til 5 before catching the bus home with a bag of fish n chips for her house husband and two hungry twins, Pubert & Tarquin.

Hi Marcus. Ah, yes. The homework & invisible ink prank. A classic retort by the school geek. Poor old Tom Thug, he naively thought he'd got away with cheating, but his crafty plan went awry. It happens to us all. I once took a friend's sample to the local doctor's surgery for them as a favour because they were too lazy to go themselves. And when I saw the doctor, who had a bemused look on their face when they saw me, asked why did I bring a stool with me as they had plenty of seats in the surgery to sit on? Awkward! 🤔🪑

Hi Marcus. Long time no speak friend. Yeah, big fan of the Whoopee comic and Supermum. Although this page is from 1978 the character itself is very reminiscent of another that appeared in the mid 80s TV series called, Supergran. That's why I like it. And you know what, even though I've got three and bit pages of Supermum art, only today was it revealled to me that the very person I sourced the art from unbeknownst to me was the artist himself.
