This is a great exapmle, those are killer panels of Medusa in action--great pick-up! Great shots of Thor, Iron Man, Hulk, and Loki all on the page--this is one of the best pages in the book. While these characters appeared first in other comics, just think about the repurcussions that bringing them together in one series had on the Marvel Universe, the comic book industry, the movie industry and Hollywood--incredible. Congrats on owning a piece of American history! |

Marvel Comics Presents Issue 1 “Who else would Marvel put on this rooftop Splash, Bub” Owner: Phoenix’s Galactic Gallery Comment posted on 10/2/2024 Wow to me this is a break-CAF caliber piece! One of the greatest images of Wolvie ever, in my opinion--I've loved this ever since I first saw it in MCP #1. Hard to imagine now, but back then we were all STARVED for Wolverine content--the only place you could find him was in Uncanny X-Men, the single monthly X title! Funny to think about that now. Opening up that first issue, this image was a knock-out--the crouch, the attitude, the flares on the cowl and his boots, Claremont's words, the CLAWS! All perfect. Congrats on owning an iconic piece of comic art. |

Strange Tales #158, page 1 Owner: Ron S Comment posted on 9/29/2024 I feel like Marie's best work was done during her relatively short run on Strange Tales, especially if you've ever seen any of these pages in person--at large art size they're really fantastic. And this might be the best of the best! I've seen this page before but didn't realize it was inked by Herb Trimpe--maybe another reason it stands out so spectacularly; love how the linework is so defined. Amazing acquisiton--congrats! |

X-Men Poster Art 1987 by Arthur Adams Owner: Ankur J Comment posted on 8/31/2024 Wow!! I also had this poster on my wall for years! And haven't seen it since, I think it was only used as that poster so hasn't been reprinted over and over. You should post the pic of the poster if you can find it--it was painted in an unusal way, which explains why so much of the pen and ink art features a lot of open space, which is a little different for Adams. The finished result was quite beautiful and kind of mysterious. This is definitely a grail piece--huge congrats!!

Jack Kirby Boys' Ranch title page "Happy Boy" Carries the Ball! Owner: David Grisez Comment posted on 7/30/2024 Saw this in one of the booth pics from the show and noticed it right away--excellent example from one of the King's favorite series! I'm not an expert on this era but it definitely has the classic Simon and Kirby look to it, particularly the inking of the shooting cowboy in the foreground. I'm going with Simon inks. |
Tales of Suspense 75 Page 28 (1965) Owner: Alberto Gonzalez Comment posted on 7/8/2024 Great page with classic Kirby layouts--the middle panel, the action of the bottom left, and Batroc's theatrical bow in the final panel are all Kirby through and through. And just pointing out, those notes around the panels are from Jack himself--describing how he intended the story to be told on the page, before Stan dialogued it. So even though Jack didn't do full art-duties here, it's very much a Kirby page. Congrats! |

Nice pick-up! |
John Romita Sr - Gwen Stacy and Mary Jane Owner: Bill Cox Comment posted on 6/24/2024 Both of Peter's ladies on the same artboard, done by the master. It was always clear that Romita enjoyed drawing these women--I don't think he ever got tired of it, and it showed in the artwork itself. That Romita spark is always there. |

Excalibur Issue 6 page 14 Phoenix and Goblin Queen - Inferno by Alan Davis Owner: Brian Lake Comment posted on 6/24/2024 Excellent page--Claremont was so good and going back and forth between fun/whimsical and dark/creepy. Captain America #102 page 6 Owner: Michael Weigant Comment posted on 6/16/2024 What an excellent Kirby Cap page! Classic Kirby action choreography in every panel--this is exactly the kind of kinetic storytelling that Kirby changed the entire medium with. Also I've always felt that Shores is underrated as a Kirby inker--really nice, lush inks here; the inking and particularly the spotting of black ink plays a role in the page's storytelling. |
