Wolverine Bloodlust pg 2 Alan Davis and Paul Neary Owner: Jason D'Ambrosio Comment posted on 5/21/2024 LOVE this book! Davis always looks good but Neary's juicy, lush inks take his artwork to the next level--and this story is such a great example of their partnership. I so regret not picking up a page when they were floating around out there. Congrats on a fantastic pick-up! |

Marvel Spotlight #5 Cover Recreation 2004 by Mike Ploog Owner: shaun clancy Comment posted on 5/14/2024 This is awesome. I don't always love recreations (which are sometimes so exact that they just feel like a photocopy), but doing it in full color like this makes it so much more than a recreation. Vibrant and dynamic, and all Ploog. Great piece! |

Sal Buscema Joe Staton Hulk 197 Splash. Owner: Eelco V Comment posted on 5/13/2024 Excellent page, so dramatic and moody--all that black ink on the page is so evocative, and not something I really associate with Sal B's Hulk art. Awesome pick-up! |

Uncanny X-Men #218 pg 21 (Silvestri pencils, Green inks, Claremont story) - Silvestri's 1st work in X-Men and the start of his era's team Owner: James Dornoff Comment posted on 5/11/2024 Excellent page that exemplifies why we all loved Claremont's X-Men so much--they felt like real characters, with their own personalities. Gorgeous art by Silvestri and Green--such organic linework. That hair! Big time congrats. |

Avengers 294 pg 1 Owner: Nick Postic Comment posted on 5/2/2024 Love how dense Big John's composition of this scene is. He could have approached it in multiple ways that would have been a lot less exciting than this. Great story title too. Congrats! |

Spider-Man #86 pg1 (1997) Owner: Rugrat Spawn Comment posted on 4/20/2024 Wow that is a stunning image--JRJR's iconic take on Spidey as well as a character we don't see a lot of from him in Gwen. And you're so right about the rain--it's the splashes that are his unique touch. Excellent inking by Hanna too. Congrats! |
||

Mike Mignola - Fafhrd and the Gray Mouser - Issue 1 - Page 39 Owner: Justin Sirois Comment posted on 4/20/2024 Excellent page! Spider-Man vs. Wolverine #1 pg.1 (1987) Owner: James S Comment posted on 4/14/2024 Very nostalgic book, from a time when it was still very unusual and special to see Wolverine outside of the X-Men. Great story too--it could have just been a slugfest but Owlsley/Christopher Priest went for a darker, more complex take that made an impact on both characters. And great art by an underrated artist-- such strong storytelling and characterization, RIP Mark Bright. Awesome page, congrats! |
||
|

Alex Toth - Wonder Woman Underoos Illustration Owner: Constant N Comment posted on 3/4/2024 Great piece--love the three images and also think it's interesting that Toth portrayed her in a pretty stern, confident way; at a time when I feel like most merchandising art would present her in a warm, overly smiley way. |

X-Men Annual 11 P°29 Owner: Patrick Le Cerf Comment posted on 2/20/2024 Gorgeous Davis-Neary art! And yes, it's not Jean Grey but I believe Dazzler who's being tempted with a vision of what her life would have been if she had gone in a different direction than being a pop star. This was a great annual! |

Leonardi - Amazing Spider-Man 282 page 16 Owner: Simon M. Comment posted on 2/16/2024 Great page, I tracked this one closely! Love Leonardi doing Spidey's black costume--and also interesting to see him inked by Layton here. Congrats! |

Peanuts 4-7-1961 Owner: Dan F Comment posted on 2/12/2024 Never was that into baseball so while I recognize the baseball strips as classic they usually aren't my favorite Peanuts strips--but this is a great example! Great gag, and so cute the way Lucy and the other girl (the little red-haired girl?) talk in unison. And great vintage for Schulz art--his linework in the 60s is my favorite: his mature style with more weight to the line than he would move towards in later years. Congrats--and still want to hear more about the odyssey home! |

Peter Parker Spider-Man #1 Cover (1999 series) by John Romita Jr. and John Romita Sr.! - 25 Year Dream Achieved! Owner: Nick - Barry - Matt - Hal - Namor Comment posted on 2/12/2024 Such a well-designed and striking piece--minimal but also dense with detail, and gorgeous inks. And the signature! I love that it's signed "The Romitas"--true comic book royalty represented on the page. Congrats on achieving a true grail. |

|
Excalibur 3 page 15 by Alan Davis and Paul Neary Owner: F M Comment posted on 2/12/2024 Gorgeous Davis/Neary artwork but also SUCH a classic Chris Claremont example--character dynamics all over the page, the humanity of the X-characters back then was one of the reasons that readers fell so madly in love with all of them. Great stuff! |
||
|
Dr Strange by Kevin Nowlan Owner: E S Comment posted on 2/11/2024 This is awesome! There are many Nowlan Doc Strange pieces on CAF but this is one of the best I've seen lately--love all the hands! Was this a commission? |

X-Men #1, page 17 (Jack Kirby and Paul Reinman) Owner: Comicart Boston Comment posted on 2/9/2024 Wow! Not many collectors can say they own a page from the first issue of any of the key Silver Age Marvel series. This is an excellent example--the three panels at the top are a classic Kirby getting-into-character sequence; and the composition of the panels at the bottom are very reminiscent of his war comics work and would be at home in the pages of Sgt. Fury. P.S. the edge in the inks has always looked like Reinman to me. |
