Aaron Lopresti --- Red Sonja (Unused?) Cover Owner: Greg Goldstein Comment posted on 3/25/2023 I am glad that you found this and shared it with us on CAF. It is excellent and I really like the contrast with the darkness gathering in the background. Most artists render the dangers in front of Sonja, so having it looming behind is extra striking to me. |

Red Sonja #18 Cover by Carlos Gomez Owner: Patrick O. Comment posted on 3/23/2023
Bill J said:
Gorgeous cover to the recent Red Sonja comic book. Carlos Gomez really gives Frank Thorne a run for his money as far as who draws the more beautiful Red Sonja. ![]() I am glad you enjoyed this modern Sonja cover. Mentioning the Frank Thorne and Carlos Gomez versions of Sonja... you hit on my favourites for drawing Sonja; the original and the new. I have enough of Thorne's and Gomez' art displayed in my home that it is difficult to explain to visitors! |

Frank Thorne, Red Sonja # 10 --- Angels From Hell! Owner: Greg Goldstein Comment posted on 3/22/2023 I am always excited to see the Thorne Sonja pages. I like the back-to-back fighting stances with Suumaro. I am not sure that anyone ever lasted longer than him as a companion character. Most are dead or left behind by the next issue (the same with her horses). I have seen the write-ups and photos from the 70's conventions that were tucked into the Conan/Sonja magazines from that time. It always makes me smile to see the looks on the faces of those first convention attendees that showed up to a hotel not knowing what to expect, and experienced songs, theatrical performances and strolling Sonjas with their bearded wizard. I imagine that everyone you ask that attended will have a very different description of the experience! My hat is off to you and the others that made the pilgramage to those first Sonja Cons. |

X-Terminators (2022) #2 Variant Cover by Carlos Gomez Owner: J. C. Comment posted on 3/8/2023 I also love Carlos' art. He is one of my favourites of the last few years and it is great to see his work appearing in major titles. I suppose his switch from mechanical pencil to digital is why we don't see enough of his work on CAF (I was very lucky to pick up a few pages before he made the switch). I didn't see this cover or series before and so I am excited to check out the X-Terminators. Thanks for sharing it with us! |

Daniel Brereton - Valkyrie Owner: K T Comment posted on 3/6/2023 Valkyrie from Air FIghters?!? That is an obscure character and it is without a doubt the winning idea for a Dan Brereton commission! I am jealous of both your idea and the finished painting. I like the inclusion of the cape with the fur trim (a nod to the other Valkyries?). It is a fun inclusion that frames her perfectly. I love this and I hope it is being displayed proudly and not hiding in a bank vault. Thanks for sharing it with us on CAF.

Thanks for sharing them with us! |

Red Sonya- Frank Thorne fan art Owner: Robert Minshall Comment posted on 10/25/2022 Hi. I collect Thorne art and I completely agree with Mr Lee's comment above. The difference that stands out to me is that Frank was very skilled and particular with drawing contrasting curved lines. For example, the sharp curves of the ends of the cloak contrasting/ framing the longer curves of the limbs. The artist of your drawing doesn't have that same consistent line/curve control. Having said that, the spirit of the piece is there and it is very fun to see. I hope that it gets displayed prominently! |

I hope you findÊyour missing page. But from the perspective thatÊhowÊart is displayed can affectÊthe viewing experience, I think this three-piece displays extremely well, with the action of page 2 flowing directly into the throw. ![]() Thanks for the comment. I completely agree with you. The missing page is where the dalogue starts and doesn't add much visually to the sequence, but I can't help wanting to see that missing page (maybe not to own it). By the way, I can't help notice that your avatar would fit really well next to the first page of my set (the screaming woman). |

Dejah Thoris 2 Owner: Dave Stuart Comment posted on 6/30/2022 I really love this version of Dejah Thoris. McKone captured the character. I always find it jarring that in the comics she is a leader, warrior, politician, climate scientist, historian and mother, whereas the covers lead us to believe she lounges about seductively all day. This Princess doesn't have time for lounging! Thanks for sharing it with us. |
