It's not that I haven't "caught up". It's that I remember purposely not wanting to read the story simply because I hated the unmasking idea. Now that Paul mentions it, I DO remember that it was retconned in that other storyline with Mephisto, yet another story I purposely avoided because I hated the idea of retconning the Peter/MJ marriage. But that's one of the great things about original art, you can still ove it and collect it even if you never read the stories those pages come from! To be fair, I remember fuming with rage when this and the Civil War issue happened haha! I can't not read Spider-Man, no matter how bad the story. And I would say you're correct about collecting art from stuff you've never read...but this is what lots of Spidey-MCU stuff is based off, it was the biggest thing happening in Marvel at the time, and really still holds some resoance today. I can't imagine not reading it! |
