This is incredible, my Friend. The second panel is a killer and just having that single strip would make me say 'ok, i can rest and check out Dan Smith from my wanted list'. But i know you won't stop there and why should you? :) Amazing piece of art by an artist you made me discover, and for that i thank you. ![]() Thank you for your kind comments. I am trying to raise the awareness of this great artist who never got his due. Hopefully with more of his works being seen by the public people will see his brilliance like I have and maybe a book can be finally published on his works. |

Illustrative genius. They are each very emotionally moving images demonstrating Abraham's unwavering love of God that he would be willing to sacrifice his son. Father Abraham had seven sons, ![]() I never realized how violent these stories were until I came across this strip. I mean, Moses even committed murder! |

The Story of David Chapter 5 / December 2, 1933 Owner: Thomas Ward Comment posted on 9/18/2021
Marcus Wai said:
Interesting that this ran weekly on a Saturday. Even the violence of this tale and the image of a beheaded Goliath would not trigger any censorship as long it's from the good book. ![]() You are absolutely correct, I think that's why a lot of artists wanted to do these Bible stories, they were able to have much more freedom than a regular strip. In one of these stories they even showed a toppless woman, no way could they get away with that in any other strip! |
