Young Romance 194 Owner: Robert (Dr Bob) Reilly Comment posted on 3/28/2021 Robert, this is an incredible culturally and historically significant cover. The cover story is about a black nurse that falls in love with a white doctor. Very risque and quite controversial subject in the 1970s. I think the artist is John Rosenberger who also drew the cover story inside. Inked by Frank Giacoia. |

Sal Buscema THE DEFENDERS #6 Cover (1973) Classic Silver Surfer Returns! Owner: Dino Mauricio Comment posted on 3/22/2021 Dino, wow, a Bronze Age masterpiece drawn and inked by Sal Buscema at the height of his powers. Sal was one of the master draftsmen of the 1970s, who finally escaped from Big John’s shadow only recently. I always saw Sal’s immense talent as an artist and as an inker as plain as daylight. It took many others decades to finally see what I saw. I started reading comics in 1972 and at that time Sal Buscema drew many of my favorite comics, Captain America, The Defenders, Marvel Team-Up and Marvel Two-In-One. That period of the early 70s was the true Golden Age for a lot of young guys my age. Congrats on a spectacular purchase> I will come back often to gander at this gem cover. Bravo. |

Amazing Adventures (third series) #5, page 1 Owner: Sean Clarke Comment posted on 1/1/2021 Sean, bravo and a big congrats on finding this personal grail splash. The rush a collector gets when finding a grail piece is beyond anything most people can describe, but you did it quite well. I felt the passion and excitement in your description as I have been there myself. Nice to see there are other real collectors left out there that share the true love of the hobby that you exhibit. A comic art page’s value becomes infinite, if it resides with its true owner, the one that values it the most as it relates to him, and not the marketplace. |

Rich Buckler - Avengers 104 Page 2 Owner: Al Simpleton Comment posted on 12/19/2020 Al, this is classic Buckler from the early 1970s. His run on Avengers starting with #101, which he took over the title from the likes of Adams and BWS, was among my favorite art and storylines in the early 1970s. This is a great page. Buckler's run on the Avengers in 1972, was basically why he was and continues to be one of my favorite artists. |

John Buscema - Fantastic Four 132 Page 19 Owner: Al Simpleton Comment posted on 12/19/2020 Al, an incredible FF panel page by Big John. But I was stunned when I read your description. There are very few collectors left today that love the storylines and feel the nostalgia, and I think I may have found another one. lol. It seems everything today centers around how much did you pay, and how much is it worth. I felt your passion for the storyline here as I too loved the Johnny and Crystal love affair in the early 1970s, and I was truly heartbroken when Crystal married that old geezer Quciksilver, in the classic FF 150. Congrats on a sterling page. |

Captain America #3, Page #21 (Steve Epting) (2005) (Jack Monroe's last drink in a bar before his Death) (Jack Monroe was the 2nd Bucky in the 1950s) Owner: Nick Katradis Comment posted on 12/13/2020
Nathan Hanley said:
Thanks for posting this Nick! Jack Monroe Nomad is my favorite character, and I actually have almost the "sister" page to this from the lonely death of Jack Monroe issue in Cap #7: https://www.comicartfans.com/gallerypiece.asp?piece=1629961 Still dissapointed in the way Jack was taken out after all of the great Nomad issues in Cap and especially his 29 issue solo run written so well by Fabian. Always hoping some writer out there will find a way to bring Jack back. Great page. Steve's work is phenomenal. ![]() Nathan, it’s great to know there is at least one collector out there that appreciates the Bucky/Nomad mythos like me. I was shocked and heartbroken to see Jack Monroe die in Cap 7 and in such a worthless fashion. I can only guess that Ed Brubaker wanted to kill off the new Bucky before he reintroduced the 1st Bucky aka Winter Soldier to the timeline. I am still dismayed that he was never brought back. I know that the Brubaker/Epting glorious Cap run was “lightning in a bottle”, and it can’t be recaptured ever again. But It would be a dream to see those two bring him back if they ever worked together again, but I doubt that would ever happen. When I asked Steve Epting if he would ever draw Cap again in a series with Ed, he doubted it because “it will always be compared to their first run” and never live up to expectation. Sadly, it will be some time before we saw a daring writer and artist ever attempt to achieve this feat. |

Aparo, Jim - Brave & the Bold, issue 132, cover (Feb 1977) Owner: Chris K. Comment posted on 11/9/2020 Chris, what can I say - your diligence and determination is astounding. "Thank god you are on our side" lol . First, you obtained the complete story to this Aparo Bronze Age gem. I complement you for getting that story back to the mainland, where it belongs. That was not an easy chore or a cheap one, i'm sure. And then knowing, as we discussed in detail, that I, like you, believe that complete stories and covers belong together, you approached me like a gentleman and made a case for it. I literally had no chance. lol Seriously, the cover belongs in your house, and I'm glad you are the custodian for both. A remarkable achievement, nuff said. |

The Leader Owner: Shaun Crowell Comment posted on 11/7/2020 Shaun a very nice commission. The Leader was one of my favorite Hulk villains. Drawn by the definitive Hulk artist. Herb Trimpe was one of the finest people you would ever meet in the hobby. I was blessed to have met and to speak to him on several occasions. I also saw him at the East Coast Comic con two days before he passed away. It was a tragic loss. |
