Aparo, Jim - Detective Comics, issue 444, cover (Jan 1975) Owner: Chris K. Comment posted on 9/14/2020 Chris, one of my favorite covers on CAF. An astounding Aparo masterpiece. I remember many years ago when Steve posted this gem as his cover for "best of" competition, and I was utterly stunned and floored. I listed it as my top choice of course, and as it was then, it still is now. Bravo. |

Cardy, Nick - Superman, issue 281, cover (Nov 1974) Owner: Chris K. Comment posted on 9/14/2020 Chris, a stunning Superman cover. Cardy is one of my favorite artists, and Superman is my favorite DC character probably because every Superman comic I picked up off the newsstand in 1972-1974 had a great Nick Cardy cover. Nick Cardy drew over 650 covers for DC during this prime period, and all of us that were lucky enough to read comics back then, were drawn to a Cardy cover like bees to honey. |

Aparo, Jim - Adventure Comics, issue 431, page 1 (Feb 1974) Owner: Chris K. Comment posted on 9/14/2020 Chris, wow, a Bronze Age masterpiece. Aparo at his zenith. You are truly blessed to own a stellar complete Spectre Story. Aparo during this prime period was unparalleled. His depiction of the Spectre was the definitive version of the character. I hope we get to see the omnipotent Spectre on the big screen with other DC supernatural superheroes soon. |

Aparo, Jim - Brave and the Bold, issue 149, page 1 (Apr 1979) Owner: Chris K. Comment posted on 9/7/2020 Chris, a superb acquisition. Wow. Aparo was The definitive Batman artist of the Bronze Age. Aparo was unparalleled as an artist, who also inked and lettered most of his work in the 70s. A complete story is the pinnacle of collecting. To get the opportunity to own the whole comic and in this case also the cover makes this an awe inspiring feat. And quite an achievement for Bill who labored for years to put it together. I have purchased complete stories but only completed three so far from scratch. The feeling of getting the last page to complete a story is so powerful, it's beyond description. |

ROM #3, page 1 Owner: Ron S Comment posted on 2/18/2020 Ron, hi, a stellar acquisition of a complete ROM Story by one of my favorite artists, our pal Sal Buscema. It's always satisfying to see that a complete story went to strong hands like yours, so it never gets broken up. I never read Rom but he is so popular with a mass following, and Hasbro recently announced a motion picture written by Avengers writer Zak Penn. |

Iron Man vs. Manderin by George Tuska Owner: Alex Johnson Comment posted on 12/28/2019 Alex, a great Mandarin piece! Tuska was an underappreciated Master artist! Kane--Sub-Mariner #50 Cover (1972) Owner: Bill J Comment posted on 8/4/2019 Bill, another stunner. Marvel Bronze Age magic! Congrats on getting this beauty. Sub-Mariner was my second favorite Marvel superhero, second only to Captain America. Gil Kane’s Subby was definitely the best rendition of the character in my eyes too, with no disrespect to Bill Everett. Ps My frustration with Marvel is excruciating that they have still not jntroduced Sun-Mariner, their first superhero and the first mutant, into their Marvel movie universe. He is so way overdue to appear on the big screen. Here is what my dream introduction of Subby would be: in Dr Strange 2, which will begin production soon, Dr strange will seek the help of Subby who he will seek out. Then they will meet up with the Hulk who will help them fight the villain. This will lead into a “real” Defenders movie. And a stand alone Sub-Mariner movie. Then I can die and go to heaven. |

John Buscema--Marvel Tales #39 Cover (1972) Spider-Man vs Doctor Octopus! Owner: Bill J Comment posted on 6/19/2019 What can I say - Big John was the greatest draftsman in the history of comics since Lou Fine. John Buscema can draw anyone and anything better than most other artists. I remember this cover fondly since it was the 2nd Marvel Tales I ever bought off the newsstand back in 1972 as an 11 year old. Like most kids that grew up in the 1970s, our first back issues of Spider-man were from reading this title. The same with Marvel Greatest Comics for the Fantastic Four as well as Marvel Superheroes for Hulk and Sub-Mariner from TTA. A fabulous Bronze Age cover with Spidey vs: my favorite Spidey villain - Doc Ock! |

Kane/Romita--Defenders #20 (1975) Owner: Bill J Comment posted on 6/19/2019 Bill, a Bronze Age masterpiece. The Defenders title was one of my favorites when I first starting reading comics. The Thing was also one of my favorite characters. Gil Kane's fluid and dynamic covers were all masterful. This is an exquisite piece of art with Kane at his finest. You are really killing it the last few years. Us mere mortal collectors can just sit back at this point and enjoy the Bill J show and tell! |

Cherry's Jubilee #3 page 3 artwork by Larry Welz (1993) Owner: Bob Kane Comment posted on 5/6/2019 Keif, a great page. It's incredible to see the extend to which you will go to, and the distances you will travel in order to obtain these signatures. You singlehandedly convinced me to appreciate the significance of a creator's signature on a piece of art. I finally acknowledge that its very important if we are able to obtain the signature of the artist/inker/ writer/letterer/or anyone that worked on the specific comic on a piece of comic art. It tends to validate and authenticate the art, as well as it allows us the opportunity to meet the creator that worked on it, if we are lucky to get it before they pass on. |

Police Comics #4 page 62 art by Lou Fine & Will Eisner (NOVEMBER 1941) Owner: Bob Kane Comment posted on 5/6/2019 Keif, a superb splash drawn by two of the greatest pillars of the comic medium - One was the greatest draftsman in the history of comics, and the other just happened to define the artform called sequential art. Unfortunately, today's average collector values Jim Lee and Humberto Ramos. |

"Master Comics #27" cover art by Mac Raboy with background assists by Bob Rogers (aka Reuben Zubofsky) (JUNE 1942) Owner: Bob Kane Comment posted on 2/14/2019 Keif, Raboy was unparalleled as an artist and draftsman! This cover is one of the greatest that he ever drew, indeed. I'm cautiously awaiting to see the Shazam movie, as you probably are too. It's blasphemy to even say Shazam, as there is only one true Captain Marvel in comicdom, and it's the Big Red Cheese. ps: I'm sure that the Captain Marvel Family will make a cameo in the movie, including CM Jr. You undoubtedly possess the greatest G. A. collection in the hobby, and I am proud to say that I was able to see it in person! |

Billy Graham--Luke Cage, Hero For Hire #3 Cover (1972) Owner: Bill J Comment posted on 12/9/2018 Bill, a superb Bronze Age masterpiece. Luke Cage was definitely the baddest ... mf in comics in the 70s. This cover shows Luke's intensity and rage perfectly; it also shows Billy Graham's genius as an artist and inker! Sadly, he died without much mention from Marvel. He is only now finally getting the attention and accolades he so richly deserves. |

“Boy Comics #102” The Crimebuster HUGE cover art by Charles Biro (JUNE 1954) Owner: Bob Kane Comment posted on 8/15/2018 Keif, a masterful Charles Biro masterpiece. Covers like this give us a glimpse of the genius and great talent of the legendary artists that worked on comics long before most of us started reading comics. Although he is widely remembered for his work on Gleason's Daredevil, and his cover work for my favorite "Crime Does Not Pay", his cover work on Boy comics was also exemplary. Congrats on owning such a great cover. |

Captain America #157 (January 1973) - Sal Buscema and John Verpoorten Owner: Michael One Minute Later Comment posted on 8/13/2018 Michael, ouch. This post hurts pretty bad. I told you to stick to GA art and 1 minute later, but to no avail. Seriously, this is a breathtaking SB Cap cover, one I have been looking for for over 16 years. Sal Buscema is one of the greats, and one of the most prolific Marvel artist of my youth. He drew almost every Marvel comic I enjoyed reading back in 1972-1976, whether it was Captain America, Defenders, Marvel 2in1, Marvel Team-up, etc. I’m sure you will get sick of it sooner or later, so give me a holler please…. Lol. And hurry up because I’m not getting any younger, although I don’t look a day over 35. |

JUNGLE ACTION 14 p1 splash Owner: Glen Brunswick Comment posted on 5/31/2018 Glen, an incredible Bronze Age splash by one of the most unsung great artists, Billy Graham. Mcgregor’s vision and Graham’s artistic genius is quite evident here. Billy Graham sadly is only getting the accolades he so richly deserves after he is long gone. If only he was alive to see the definitive Black Panther alongside the great Don McGregor on the big screen. This breathtaking page has art from corner to corner - every centimeter is drawn. Just perfect. |

Whiz Comics #19 cover art by C. C. Beck (JULY 1941) Owner: Bob Kane Comment posted on 4/30/2018 An incredibly rare CC Beck Captain Marvel cover! A superb example of the greatest superhero outside of Big S. Its sad and still beyond belief how DC let the trademark slip through their grasp and end up in the hands of the folks over at Marvel. But the Big Red Cheese will always be the one and only true Captain Marvel to all us fans! |

ASTONISHING TALES #16 (1973) classic Ka-Zar cover by Jim Starlin Owner: Dino Mauricio Comment posted on 11/3/2017 Dino, a breathtaking Bronze Age gem of a cover! Ka-zar was one of my favorite characters back in the early 1970s. His run in Astonishing Tales is so vivid in my mind. Many of the top artists working for Marvel worked on Ka-zar's run in AT - Gil Kane, John Buscema, Jim Starlin, BWS, John Romita, Rich Buckler, Dan Adkins, and even Marie Severin. This cover I believe was inked by my favorite inker, Frank Giacoia, maybe with Romita corrections. Congrats on owning one of the best covers in this great run! |
