Such a great looking piece, and it exudes the one thing I care most about, FUN! Kramer did an excellent job with the extreme foreshortening he had to do on Atom Smasher, and I've loved Stargirl ever since the television show aired and have since gone back and read Stars and S.T.R.I.P.E. and the first 3 trades of the Johns JSA run, and have the more recent Stargirl mini-series TPB waiting for me as well.

As for Ron, he's such a great, affable guy. I did a very popular Show & Tell episode with him which was a lot of fun!

This result turned out awesome! I understand your apprehention about letting go of the sketchbook for the first time for a mailing later situation, I'd have weak nerves about that myself - but glad it all worked out just fine and you have this awesome piece in there, congrats!

Nice addition to the story pages you already have!

The establishing shot is wonderful indeed. But quite frankly, his mastery of composition is in full display here, as each individual panel is a little work of art all its own, so perfectly composed!

You know, as I was writing that previous message, I was thinking to myself, "Wait, didn't I select a nice Garcia-Lopez Hex page for our Show & Tell episode?". I was too lazy to check though, so thanks for reminding me I was right about that!

Aha, now with the Civil War covered in your collection, and by Garcia-Lopez at that, you can even stretch over to a page from Jonah Hex, also by Garcia-Lopez if you want, and get more imagery of confederates or yankees, whichever you prefer!

Now THAT is commentary worth of your page's description! Thanks so much, Peter. You see, you do have quite a lot to say about it and you say it very well. You should always do this for every page you post! The fact that you noticed the soldier is in mid stride in the 3rd panel also tells me that you have an above average eye, as a little detail like that is not typically noticed by the average comic book fan. For me personally, sharing images is one thing, but just a part of the overall experience of sharing art with others. I've always felt much more excited to enjoy looking at a page when it comes with a description telling me what the owner loves about it. It just adds so much more to the sharing component of our shared hobby. I agree with all the points you made, except for one. I think the reason you feel this still fits in your collection is because this ISN'T really in the Horror genre as much as it fits into Mystery and/or Suspense. As I said, a really wonderful looking page. I miss seeing new DeZuniga work so much. This is a treat!

A very nice War painting! I once dabbled in some Biffignandi paintings, but always in the realm of nude breasts and the like. I figured I'd leave the War art where it was until YOU discovered it!

The spotting of blacks are placed so perfectly leading you through the page. The heavy panels at the bottom immediately place you indoors opposed to the open backgrounds of the outdoor ones.Very solid layout.

Really makes me want to go read the whole story.

Nice pick up. Biffignandi is a well respected painter althoh he is mostly known for his lush cover paintings for the Italian horror and erotic comics.

I am guessing Paul is a descendant of Giuseppe Nero, since Nero translates to Black.

While the there's not a lot of camera angle variation, DeZuniga provides crystal clear storytelling with gorgeous black spotting that adds a lot of weight and a sense of dread and mystery to the proceedings. Lovely page! I'd love to hear YOU speak a bit about what you love about the art though, Peter, rather than spell out what is happening on the page, since we can see/read it ourselves. What is it it that moves YOU about this particular piece?

A lovely depiction of the Golden Age Sandman! It loioks like a love letter to Michael Kaluta.

YES! This is wonderful Peter, that first and last panel, tho. Damn. Wagner is on fire wtih these. Such great mood and energy.

Sounds like a crazy plan to me, but then, being a prisoner in a concentration camp would likely make one willing to take some risk if it meant getting out. Fyi, Peter, just like the previous story, did you notice that the splash page was tightly inked while this page is noticeably looser? Must've been a deadline issue, especially given how many pages he drew in this issue.

Ooh, that is some nice, tight, beautiful artwork by Glanzman. Peter's coming at us with another complete story!

This is a BEAUTIFUL cover, and great to see it in the collection of someone who loves it so much!

Look at the hulk sketch 1 in my gallery. Two of the four pieces I got had his signature scrawled in the centre of the page. He must have learned that from John Byrne and quite a lot of other artists  who seem to like defacing their own work, but only after they sell it.

The only thing cooler than a shadow is a reflection ;)

When I met John I think he was smashed too, which would explain why he put huge signatures all over the artwork I bought from him.
