You know, I never noticed it before but are those gloves supposed to be some sort of Cheetah inside joke?  Is that what you were implying?  And is that guy looking on supposed to be H. G. Peter? 

Wagner was magnificent on Mage 1 and Devil by the Deed.  One of THE outstanding colorists of the day together with Steve Oliff and Lynn Varley. 

I remember this page very well  - I can even see the colours in my mind's eye. Excellent.

A very special page...issue 3 had so many great scenes.

The colours on this series were some of the best of the era and still standout.  Unlikely to be replicated again in view of the turn towards digital colouring. Such a pity Wagner doesn't do this any more.  And yeah, such a key scene in the series.  

I missed this one.  The page after that other famous scene-panel on page 11. Memorable exchange. They should hurry up and make that adaptation already.  But they'll probably be accused of killing off the only POC in the whole thing. 

The original Devil by the Deed was a spectacular contrast with the large amount of negative space in Mage.  This is a kind of return to form for Wagner; a kind of return to the those early glory days of innovation.  

An impressive Quitely collection and this has to be one of your best pieces.  

Wow, I missed this.  Spectacular page from the adaptation capturing all the awe of the movie.
