Nice era of Perez commissions!  He added the pencil shading to these pieces and is something more unique than his pen and ink pieces in previous iterations published and unpublished.

Great red tones to put the audience on alert to the Dan Dare sci-fi action happening.  The unique panel layout is just to accomodate the second big action image!

Pretty cool reset pages to show and reintroduce the team before heading into the third act.

A pure image by Zaffino rendering in levels using every technique he does great used to maximize the impact!  Screentone, white paint, washes, scratching, brush inking, pen inks, and so much more with Conan in the front and the creature looming the back.

Powerhouse image from Ron Wilson who does his modern style of hard and aggressive rendering for the musclebound green goliath!   

Watching him draw this is probably the coolest part of the art.  Hulk is supposed to be rough around the edges and Larsen brings the power of ol' green genes he did when he worked on Defenders.

Bottom left is a classic Stroman face he uses for the big strong tough guy characters.  He also sets the tone for the Darkstars as sci-fi superhero crime fighters that was more aggressive to be with the times.

The photo realism is spot on with the costuming and the makeup/hairstyling that could have easily passed for the show.  Oliveira also captures the expressions of Daenerys and the dragon in parallel as the pencil shading give them a serious tone as if looking out into a battlefield. 

She's the crush of many schoolboys who grew up watching Ultraman as she fit into her unique Science Patrol uniform nicely.  

Kitty with the big X on her forehead!  She's actually talking the way the intended audience would speak which made her such a great addition to the team.  Smith's second issue and in the classic Brood storyline!

Nice dark vision for Frankenstein's monster with the decaying face deeply etched with the look of torture as given life that is pain.

From back in the day, Dalgoda was always spoken in the same breath as Corbin's Den for peak indie adult sci-fi of the 80's because both were written by Strnad.  Dennis Fujitake could have been a bigger star for sure if he would have went mainstream.   

How can they trust a prisoner with real information?  The center panel is very strong with the machine gun and its firepower cutting through the background of the brush.  The bottom panel is a massacre in the making!

The base and the circle are very European in illustration design. Love the Bianchi costume touches too!  Every bit of it is given his equal attention in detail, lighting, and texture.

If he can handle the head fin convincingly, as we see here, Gandakusuma's is more than halfway to making this piece a success!  

Kirby's move to the west coast led him to animation where the artist there worshipped him for his comics work!  This may have been some of the most freeing imaginative periods of his career without having to worry as much about his next paycheck.  

You got the rebirth splash!  Byrne's run on the original 70's Iron Fist series is legendary, so this recall is a treat for audiences new and old.

World's collide with the two iterations side by side in a sci-fi extravaganza!  Greene vs Olmos!  I think even the 70's cast has to admit the Ronald D Moore series is some peak television.

Love that Betty Boop flapper hair style!  Creees Lee's composition with the thin line touch takes inspiration from Vess and PCR.

If Simonson's Ragnarok met Hitch's Ultimates Thor!  Hammering impact!

A major piece early in the series!  Hitch was going to provide these sweeping double page splashes to put audiences on notice that this historical fiction series was going to be presented in the most fantastical manner!

Hot!  Ramos uses his more modern illustration style for this headshot!  Doctor Doom commissions are a sure bet to be on the minds of collectors for years to come.

Fun issue one cover as Tom Reilly draws a throwback cover with a Tales to Astonish look!  All his silly villains from the 60's are here too.  Ant-Man was one of the main stars early on for Stan Lee to build the Marvel Universe around.

Well Bagley ASM is a decade earlier.  However, the Ultimate Spider-Man stories and artwork did help dig Marvel out of bankruptcy to revitalize the industry as a bridge to the movie era of Marvel.  Bendis and Bagley's historic run on this title can still be felt through Miles Morales and the current Ultimate line.  

the discernable difference is the lady and depending on preference, this one is a lot softer and pleasing to the eyes.  These hot babes sure love the bad boys.

Geiger remains very faithful to his original from 1986.  Rick, Bruce, and Betty under the spectre of The Gray Hulk and the new villain Fragment!  It has some Kirby krackle around to pay homage to the Hulk's early origins.

With two properties making a comeback this year, expect a crossover to happen on screen again.  Many have said they should just adapt this series to win over new and core fans.

Adams draws Venom like his current Godzilla art!  The full color aspect is a major bonus to this!

The Charlize Theron version that has the hevy war weary look of a survivor!  Travis spares no detail getting every juicy bit of the costume and attitude of the Fury Road movie performance.

Rightside up or upside down, the effort by Grell to mirror the iconic pose of the longbow hunter is superb.    

A climatic page of battle!  Very nice design to have the three vertical columns for the high up action to set up the takedown!

More complex than what the cartoon styled art inicates.  A bright and gleaming page of ink precision and page design to show that the Legion title had a more optimistic future! 

This is just too good for a sketchcove!  It's like an illo done for a RPG module cover.  Major D&D red box vibes with Red Sonja and the big dragon!

From this bad boy smile, he's like Daemon Targaryen.  I can see Matt Smith playing Gambit now!

Mad cool as Braun could do the comic version all day, but he also offers the streaming series version of Butcher to have the likeness of the actors.  I think most fans love the Karl Urban version and what he did with the character beyond the printed page.  Ironically, now it's captured back on paper. 

Great how Claudio Aboy got all the kevlar patterns on the suit and all the gizmos on the new Batmobile!  Maybe he got the hot toys to work with because the movies were so dark.

Sweet tariff free international art!  As cool as Miles Morales' invisibility powers when camouflaged in the bricks and shadows of an alleyway.  Boyd has it all look so clean and flawless!
