Amazing Heroes #115, Page: 53 - April 1987 - Omaha the Cat Dancer Owner: Mark Paten Comment posted on 6/3/2024 Congratulations, Mark. I saw this lovely Omaha image on CAF and considered a purchase as well, but decided to pass. We don't see a lot of Omaha images being offered any more, aside from Denis Kitchen's private collection offerings on Heritage recently. As for me, I'm inclined to think my collecting days are likely drawing to a close. It seems to makes less and less sense to buy these paper collectibles at usurious prices that I won't be able to take with me, or pass on to another generation. We'll see what happens. Best wishes and happy collecting, Mark. |

Showcase Issue 061 Page 08 Owner: Hoarders Hide Comment posted on 4/18/2024 I like the density of detail which dictates that nearly every panel gets filled almost to the panel borders, but this is nicely balanced by the second and fourth frames which let some air in with the deftly balancing white spaces. Spec battling that horde of demons in panel five is spectacular (or should that be "spook-tacular"?). I just love this classic Silver Age page. |

X-Men Vol. 5 #34 variant cover by Jay Anacleto for Unknown Comics Owner: Metal Chris Comment posted on 4/5/2024 I don't see much on CAF that jumps out at me lately, but this one did, (and deserves a 21-gun salute, to boot!). I own one of Jay's pieces too. so I know exactly what you're talking about when you say yours looks so much better in person. Superb, superb work on Jay's part...and a hearty "Bravo, well done!" to you as a collector. |

Wally Wood, Doctor Doom in Astonishing Tales #4 Owner: Greg Goldstein Comment posted on 2/7/2024 This is the work that caused editor Roy Thomas to call out the artist for making too much use of assistants and diluting his style, which prompted Wood to quit doing the strip, by Roy's own account. If there's input from assistants here, I confess that I can't easily spot it. One wonders how many more of these great stories Wood might've gone on to do if Roy had only bitten his tongue and clammed up a bit. Congratulations, a great catch! |

Conan: The Frost Giant's Daughter Chapter Art Owner: Paperchaser 1968 Comment posted on 1/25/2024 You're lucky to own two of these chapter header illustrations from the Wandering Star/Del Rey Howard collections. Always thought it a pity that Mark Schultz couldn't illustrate the other two volumes in the series. The attention to craft and detail in these renderings is impressive in person. |

The woman with the hat by Walter Molino Owner: Eric F Comment posted on 12/31/2023 What a gem of an illustration! Molino's femmes were sexy without being vulgar as we see in so much of today's so-called Good Girl art. Congrats! |

Terry and the Pirates daily 03/21/1946 -Dragon Lady Owner: John Voytek Comment posted on 12/30/2023 I wanted to echo what you wrote about Jeff Singh. Jeff is one of the nicest people I've encountered among fellow collectors over the decades. And certainly among the most knowledgeable. The strip itself has a great buildup to the punchline and closing panel with all that heavy dialogue coming before it. That's a wow of a shot with the Dragon Lady, and the slimey, sinister Slits (try saying that fast, akin to "seven slippery snakes, were slowly sliding Southward"). =D |
