A wonderful effort by Jack Sparling with red-hot "good girl" action. And remarkably unmolested by the Comics Code. I think it's one of Sparling's best romance stories. ![]() Well, luckily no Comics Code in 1952 :-) |

Two-Fisted Tales #28, page 7 (EC Comics, 1952) Owner: Steve Kro Comment posted on 11/9/2020 The signature is interesting. Harvey Kurtzman never owned the story himself and the page must have belonged to the winner of the story in Russ Cochran's EC Art Auction. He then managed to get the page signed by two of the creators. Maybe we'll see a new phenomenon in the future: The EC Signature Series. |

Hawkman 9, page 11 Owner: Mark Howland Comment posted on 7/14/2020 I never read DC comics and I must confess that I am not familiar with Murphy Anderson's art. The Mentachem rod I had to look up as well. This is what I found on the DC Database: Mandrill (the Matter Master) accidentally discovered a new chemical, Mentachem, which he then fashioned into a wand for his own criminal gain. The wand enabled him to reshape, transmute, or levitate any matter. Thanks for broadening my horizons. |

EsseGesse, Capitan Miki Owner: Peter 1952 Comment posted on 6/20/2020 Absolutely wonderful and nostalgic. I remember reading these small one-tier comics back in the 1950's, where they were a huge hit in Scandinavia. This one was called "Kaptajn Micky", another one was "Davy Crockett". I had no idea that these strips were the work of three artists. Too bad that they have never been reprinted outside Italy to my knowledge. |
