Awesome piece CAB! Really love the contrast of this piece and how simple yet effective the background is. Really frames the main figure and even DD having most of the blacks in center really helps to keep the focus on him. Another amazing piece to your collection! Wow this is quite an awesome stylized piece! It has a lot of energy and I def see a manga-esque inspiration. I love the grey tones added as well and funny enough opposite of kinetic but the fabric such as the cape and shirt has an almost woodlike carving form to it like something from a Mignola piece haha. This is super awesome and fantastic CAB! Congrats on another great addition to your collection. ![]() Many thanks, David. These are fantastic observations coming from an expert in the field. Unmistakably Tradd, yet at the same time showing his evolution. There is so much new here. I see him experimenting with his signature too, in this latest round of commissions. Dynamic, unique, exquisite! Congrats! ![]() Many thanks, Mikail. And, if I may say so, you make a very good point because although it is clearly Tradd, this is somewhat different from him this time. I was wondering whether it was the character that prompted him to evolve his style or whether this is part of a broader evolution that we'll see in his later work. |

I have to second Marcus' observation about this piece having an almost anime feel/quality to it. If it wasn't for the darker color pallette this would've fit right into Cowboy Bebop or other late 90s or early 2000s animes. Not sure what the current publishing status of Two-Gun Kid as I feel like it's been awhile since any new series has been made, but if they ever bring it back around this would make for one amazing variant cover or something. Congrats on the great commission result, it's TRADD to the MAX! ![]() Many thanks, Kavi. Yes, there is an anime feel to it. Unfortunately, the TKG has literally gone west and I can confidently say that there is zero chance that the series will be revived. But commissions such as this help make up for the disappointment. |

I'm always amazed when an artist can visualize something so unique, then communicate through pen and ink. What a fantastic commission! I also love the way he put his sig in the background with some of the art covering it...like he signed it first then drew (although I understand that's not what really happened lol). Great piece CAB....thanks for sharing! ![]() Many thanks, CIB! As mentioned, his take on the character is so unique that it cannot really be compared with other similar pieces in this particular gallery. Tradd's style is really all his own and I'm so glad I managed to request this from him. |

Tradd goes crazy with geometric angles waist up. At first I missed the face, the floating holster virtually resembles a gun floating in space. The holster and shirt move your eye through the picture. Tradd demonstrates his imagination has no bounds. ![]() Many thanks, Ilia. It's uncanny, but my initial response to the piece was very similar to yours. I totally agree with you that Tradd has perspectives that go well beyond the conventional - which explains why he did such an amazing job with both SSB and Dr Strange (both of which were ideally suited to his immense imaginative talents). |

Lot of anime influence in this piece! It's unlike any of the art he's done before showing Tradd's current mindset and level of artistry. Who knows? Jamie apologized, and wanted to redo the piece and redraw Spider-Man to reflect Ditko moreso. I couldn't have him do that after seeing this piece and all the work he put into the art. He admitted he leaned towards McFarlane. ![]() The bonus is one gets to see Doctor Strange in McFarlane style as well! In fact, McFarlane probably bridges the gap between the original Ditko rendition of Spidey and the more modern versions. |

I've got no truck with Powell. An excellent artist! ![]() Yes, Powell was an excellent artist and, to be fair, his coming on board the title didn't make any real difference to the resulting artwork. However, in issue 11 (Wood's final DD issue), he is credited with full pencils - which makes sense because Wood was leaving Marvel. That makes the crediting of Powell with layouts on this issue quite logical as well. But there will always be views, especially when pages like this cost so much. As for me, I simply collect what I love provided I can afford it at the time. |

Colan / Sinnott what a great team on that time. They did an amazing run on Cap. That last panel is delicious. A sort of Falcon's first appearance summary! Very nice, man!!! ![]() Many thanks, Toni. Layouts are far from an artist being the penciller. It would make Wood the Finisher, making what you see truly his. Either way, I love this page! Congratulations on owning it. ![]() Many thanks, Steven. Yes, Wood's inking was, as mentioned, so powerful that they virtually always made a page his. But some have argued that Powell was also the penciller. |

I don't know how long it takes Perkins to do some of these pages. I look at the foilage and all of the hatching and line work ad my mind spins at the labor. These Swamp Thing pages are a work of beauty.
