SLAINE THE KING (2000 A.D. PROG # 589-Dated August 27, 1988) Owner: Steve Bunche Comment posted on 3/12/2014 Definitely one of the most memorable images from all of Fabry's run on Slaine; the level of skill and sheer, bloody-minded detail he put into these pages is staggering. These later pages especially are perfection and an absolute joy to behold (I just picked up the page preceding this one). I'd say the usual 'congrats' but I don't think that would do this page justice! |

Starlord: 'Ro-Busters' pt. 6, pg 3 (Ian Kennedy) Owner: Mark Spencer Comment posted on 3/12/2014 Mark, I don't need to tell you how much I love this one... Ian Kennedy's art is sublime at all times; incredible skill and solid-looking design every step of the way. His work on Ro-Busters got me hooked instantly and I probably wouldn't be where I am if I hadn't been exposed to his work as a kid. Ian's a legend, plain and simple. |

Bad Company, Ep 16, p4, 2000AD #515 Owner: Greg Meldrum Comment posted on 3/3/2014 I think this is my favourite out of all your Bad Co. pages, Greg; so many great aspects to this page. The madness-inducing Winds of Golgotha are a memorable device and as you point out, that panel with Danny hallucinating is a crucial beauty. All in all, wonderful stuff! |

Judge Dredd Daily Star - Episode 56: The Apocalypse War. Ron Smith Owner: Spikes Harvey Rotten Comment posted on 10/26/2013 A bit of a classic in its own right, this. Ron demonstrates his mastery of the medium here; I struggle to think of anyone who could condense one of the great epics down to a handful of panels as well as it's done here. Great to see it has a good home, Iain! |

2000AD Cover Prog 387 Nemesis Gothic Empire Kevin O'Neill Owner: Malak Brood Comment posted on 10/20/2013 Stunning! A blisteringly good chunk of art from the God-like O'Neill. Pretty much as good as it gets; definitely up there with the best of the Nemesis covers and, as such, any artwork anywhere, ever. |

Is it Spook ? ![]() No, Spook is wearing a Beret and a stripy top in these scenes. Definitely not Ruby either! Even the handy Zenith scorecard draws a blank... http://www.internationalhero.co.uk/s/scorcard.htm |

The lady at 3'o clock could be Ruby Fox ? zenith is my favourite comic series of all time. Congrats on such an incredible commission ![]() Thanks, Gary - you're a fine judge of all things Yeowell so I'm happy you like this one! As for Ruby Fox, no, not her (not Spook, either). She'll probably remain nameless, which is fine by me! |

2000AD Prog 1726; Shakara: Avenger; Part 14, Page 6 Owner: Simon Beigh Comment posted on 9/27/2013 Another fantastic Shakara page, Simeon. The main splash is great but I think I like the three inset panels even more; a great crash-zoom effect; Henry at his insane best! |

2000ad: Return to Armageddon Owner: s smith Comment posted on 9/27/2013 Well there are at least three of us, Peter. Given the sad lack of reprints, RtoA is surprisingly highly-regarded - something that's obviously been picked up on as it's now finally getting a collection! Redondo didn't fare well at all, reprint-wise, being left out of the Titan Nemesis collections, but he's a fantastic artist. The page I have from RtoA (featuring an ice-entombed Destroyer) is definitely one of my favourites! |

This piece isn't getting anywhere near enough love; simply beautiful work from Mr Y. Interesting to see that Steve changed Zenith's position in version 2 then went back to the original version for the final pencils. Lovely... ![]() The switch-around was down to me, really. Steve assumed I'd want Zenith face-on for this, but part of what I liked about the original take on the scene was the back view of Zenith, which made him seem less dominating than usual and even fairly insignificant. Steve then did another version and it was obvious that he was right all along; for this scale and angle, seeing Zenith face-on works best. |

Ac-iii-d! That's the one; superb commission, a real beauty. ![]() Thanks, Ben! It's great to have Archie in there; I gave Steve the general set-up and he just ran with it. Steve's a complete gent and I can hardly believe the amount of work he put into this. |

Rogue Trooper, 'Fear of the Machine', Ep 2, p4, 2000AD #247 Owner: Greg Meldrum Comment posted on 9/11/2013 Colin Wilson's Rogue is phenomenal stuff; THE most skilled artist when it comes to Future Tech and rock-solid designs. I imagine this must have been a challenging story to illustrate and I can imagine much of the detail was left to Colin to flesh out (or digitise); it would be fascinating to see the creative gulf between the script and the finished art. Great page, Greg - particularly that final panel! |

Blackblood Owner: Frank Toast Comment posted on 8/26/2013 Genius. Blackblood is sometimes a bit of a comical figure, but always looks his best when the menace and pure evil are allowed to shine through. Henry really is an Art God, isn't he? |

Starlord - issue 3, page 3 - Planet of the Damned Owner: s smith Comment posted on 8/14/2013 I've still not read PotD in it's entirety, but have very fond - and vivid - memories of reading this in Starlord as a kid. The Ab-humans and the thirst-quenching plants are pretty unforgettable stuff and it would be great to see this reprinted. Great page, by the way! |

2000AD Prog 1449; Shakara: The Assassin; Part 10, Page 4 Owner: Simon Beigh Comment posted on 8/13/2013 Endlessly inventive and adaptable, Henry is one of the true Modern Greats; a sizeable chunk of the credit for the current Golden Age of 2000AD goes to him. And Shakara's a wonderfully energetic, completely bonkers strip that should be on everyone's reading list. Great stuff, Simeon! |
||

2000AD: 1985 Annual; contents page with Tomas de Torquemada and Nemesis The Warlock Owner: Ben Heywood Comment posted on 8/13/2013 Another cracking piece, Ben - prime O'Neill goodness, as good as 2000AD artwork gets! I was wondering where this one had gone to; good to see it's found a good home. |

2000AD: Prog 442 (1985); Nemesis The Warlock, Book 5 - The Vengence of Thoth, Chapter 8 Owner: Ben Heywood Comment posted on 8/10/2013 Fantastic stuff, Ben; another corker! So much insane action in just a couple of pages. Bryan Talbot was a fantastic choice for Nemesis; a very worthy successor to Brother O'Neill. |

2000AD: Prog 361 (1984): Judge Dredd - The Haunting of Sector House 9, pt3 Owner: Ben Heywood Comment posted on 8/10/2013 The Haunting... A stone-cold calssic and one of my most fondly-remembered Dredd strips. Lovely art by Brett, as good as it gets, and disturbing and brilliant in equal measure. |
||
|
2000AD: Prog 462 (1986); Judge Dredd - The Falucci Tape pt2 Owner: Ben Heywood Comment posted on 8/10/2013 Slydog Sladek... A great DPS from a cracking story; Cam on very fine form as usual. Great stuff, Ben! |

2000ad Prog 157 The VC's Owner: Spikes Harvey Rotten Comment posted on 8/10/2013 Iain, you know I'm very partial to Cam's art, so it's always a treat to see more originals around here. 2000AD Prog 334 Judge Dredd Requiem for a Heavyweight Part 4 Owner: Malak Brood Comment posted on 7/31/2013 Gimme the Pie! Arnold Stodgeman could give Two Ton Tony Tubbs a run (or waddle, with bellywheel) for his money and no mistake. Classic story, wonderful art! |

Rogue Trooper Owner: David Roach Comment posted on 7/21/2013 I really should revisit Ortiz's work on Rogue; much like Redondo's contributions to Nemesis, I think this has been sorely neglected and something I'd appreciate far more now than I did when it first appeared in the Prog (or, in this case, Sci-Fi special). Anyway, a lovely page, David! |
||
|
Judge Dredd: The Megazine, issue 311, page 9 Owner: s smith Comment posted on 7/17/2013 A very fine pair of pages! A really nice little story with, as you say, a lot going on in just a few pages (the effects of the bitee on the biter are a lovely touch). Fingers crossed for more McCarthy goodness in the Prog in future. |

2000AD #195 ORIGINAL COVER ART RETURN TO ARMAGEDDON Owner: Darryl Jones Comment posted on 7/5/2013 A great cover but I can't help feeling that Redondo should have done the honours here; The Destroyer would have been a LOT more scary... |
