This actually turned out better than my second purchase from the dealer.  There was supposedly some Covid related issue & I didn't get the two pieces I bought.  Live & learn.  I still like this piece!

I can't believe that no one else has commented on this piece yet.  What a gorgeous work of art!  It's just stunning.

I think what I like best about this is the way it captures the youth & enthusiasm of Alan Scott.  It seems like he is mostly drawn as an older hero  This captures the joy of a young man who has a magic ring & ues it to help people.

i have to admit I was shocked when I pulled the piece out of that mess!  I expected the worst.

This is pretty cool.  I like his work in general, but this piece just goes above & beyond.

He's a Spanish artist.  Here's his site https://danielazconegui.com/en/. I have to admit I wasn't familiar with him until I saw him post this piece among others on a Facebook group.  I snagged it right away & then checked out his other work.  He has a couple of artbooks out. I have been seeing a number of versions of Cap with the hammer, but this one really worked for me.

Gil told me one time that Nowlan was his favorite inker for his work.  He said something like, "when he inks it, it looks like it looks in my head."

I hadn't looked at it that way.  Now it is hard to get it out of my head when I see it!

I think Staton was doing a lot on Duoshade board around then.  His Huntress covers that I saw were on them as well.

I bought this from someone who had commissioned it from him & was cleaning out their collection.  I bought it based on the image on my phone from Facebook & was quitee pleased to see the original!

It just seemed like an obvious theme to me.  It seems like almost every comic artist has a few great monkey/ape drawings in them.  Monkey drawings date back to at least the Egyptions & the Dutch painters loved to paint monkeys.  There's just something cool about them!

The concept is awesome.  Using the battery as the center really pulls this together as a single image in a way most headshot jams don't manage.
