Whoah!  That is a fine piece of history indeed.  And a beautiful one at that.

So I just realized that while this is my most re-visited piece on all of CAF, I've yet to comment.  This is indeed a special kind of Treasure.  It is a crossroads of comics history, captured in a single image.  Yes it's Kirby. Yes its the two big teams. And Yes it's a Silver Age splash.  And yet it is much more.  This gem, -- so wonderfully embellisehed by Stone -- is literaly Marvel gospel.  I adore it.

Now this is just about as good as it gets.  If you're trying to explain to someone what is 'special' about original sequential comic book art, just show them this page and save yourself the hassle.

I am completly floored by these Kirby ToS pages of yours, but this one is an absolute gem!  Pls just add me to the 'one day' list lol :) 

Good grief -- How have I not noticed this untill now?  I love it -- adore it - covet it (Sorry but I do lol!) -- just stunning and incredible in every possible way that comic art can be.  The Red Skull's head on this page is a good as Kirby gets - and therefore as good as coimic art gets.  Giacoai shined here supporting the King's lines structually without drowning them.I'm sure there is a 'one day if' list -- please stick me on it :)

Thanks for posting this LEGION.  While I would not consider myself passionate about either the artist or the character, the reality is that this is incredible.  It's ridiculous just how 'passionate' this piece is.  Just wonderful in every way-Congrats
