Kudos for finding THE page that is most seared into your brain from this sequence! Amazing that you've already owned it for 25 years! I was personally never a huge Gambit fan. I thought he was alright, but I didn't love him. But I have to take this opportunity to say that I finally got around to watching Deadpool/Wolverine a few days ago and in all honesty, although they should've tweaked the costume a little bit (made the purple chest plate darker and not so bright) in a couple of areas (the head piece, even if true to the comics, looked cheesy), Gambit otherwise was pretty badass! I especially liked the card throwing/exploding effects and also thought he did a really nice job with the Cajun accent. So yes, believe it or not, I enjoyed the live action version of Gambit more than I ever did the comic book version! I'm sure I'm in the minority in that regard, but who knows, this may now make me appreciate him more in his comic book appearances. What I know for sure is that I'm actually hoping and looking forward for Marvel to bring him back in a future movie, be it X-Men or just as another guest appearance in someone else's film!

While I (truly) love to see your comments on pieces I post, I strongly believe this one is written with the sole purpose of annoying me and have me rant again 😊

Which other reason could you possibly have to mention the appearance of Gambit in a movie I did not (need to) know he was in and will never ever watch except if I’m gifted the original art page previous to this one in order to do so?

To make it clear(er) and public once again, I don’t care about Gambit or any particular character, I care about CREATORS.

I.E. I would buy a NFL PRO comic written by Alan Moore, a Toxic Avengers one written by Warren Ellis, an Awesome Possum drawn by Michael Golden or a Bat Dung one if drawn by Jason Pearson (and the list is endless) 😉

Congratulations! I can see why you wanted this. Skroce shows all the skill that made him a such an in-demand storyboard and concept artist.

I hope for his sake that he didn't produce storyboards with that level of detail but indeed he shows off his great skills here (and on this series).

Gambit can certainly do more than walk and chew gum at the same time! What a cool sequence with the gum explosive use of his powers. Congrats on getting the art page for the specific moment you remember so well fron this 90s number 1 issue.

From the top of my head, I have another similar page to post (of THE moment for me in that particular series) but I already have the chance to own several of those in the collection.

If you were intending to see it, I recommend you still see it. I'm just one person and my thoughts and views aren't any more valid to your decision making process than your own or anyone else's. A 6/10 CAN be solid, in that foundationally speaking, I feel there is something solid there to build on. We discussed it on my show on Sunday night and several friends gave it 8 and 8.5. It's always best to see and decide for yourself. Besides, with that beautiful new Superman cover you recently got, you gotta go support the man of steel!

Well, as you very well know my opinion on the subject, I didn't intend to see it as, even though I'm not the biggest fan of his work, I'm with Scorcese on S-H movies in that they are designed for the widest mass appeal, independent of any artistic merit or quality, as geekdom will eat them with a spoon no matter what.

There are enough great, good or masterpiece movies in Cinema history I haven’t seen I’d rather watch (or rewatch) than lose my time on this tepid stuff that will never be as good as the source material. It just moves, that’s it.

Not to mention that I have never been a fan of James Gunn since I made the mistake of watching the first Guardians movie where he lost me on that very first scene of that guy moon walking in space listening to his tape player, which I found ridiculous and completely fun forced.

They will entertain us to death, indeed.

(didn’t expect this, I’m sure 😉)
