A beautiful and WILD spread you have here, Michael.  Never having read this book (and immediately seeing my mistake in not having done so - I'll have to rectify that!), this strikes me as a big flashback reveal, where all the puzzle-piece imagery lets us know that details are being filled in.  You can't help immediately siding with the central character here, and feeling sympathetic towards their harrowing plight.  GREAT style here, and any time you have both flies and rat teats so prominently displayed, you know you've got yourself a winner.  Congrats, Michael, on a stunning piece - great pick up!

It's amazing as Ramos was evolving his style with this many techniques being applied with the main goal being presentation in the published book.  In his more recent work, you can see the results of this period of his career.

The use of black and white blackground makes Domino appear as if she is about to slip into the shadows. Excellent piece!

Limgenco makes her look like a star with a focus on her sensuality and vulnerability after her hard earned victory.  The complimentary warm colors and the shadows behind make Mary look hot and scorching everything around her.

A classic 3 panel structure that reminds me of another Mary who made a last page appearance in ASM 42.  I'm going to guess Typhoid Mary says, "Face it Jackass, you'e just hit the jackpot!"

This is amazing. It was a shame Brunner's run on Howard was so short, but, wow, as this page illustrates, did his star burn brightly. (Also, Gerber's brutal satiric take on how corporations are crushing us is just as relevant today as ever.)
