I have no idea who to thank for it. Marvel sent me a request for hi-res scans for certain pieces that were posted in my CAF gallery. Ironically, there's one hi-res scan I sent to them that they have come back and said they couldn't use because the colors were different then they were in my CAF - I noted that I made a simple adjustment to the color (to soften them) in the Preview program on my Mac and that they should be able to make the same changes (or better as I'm sure they have better graphics software), but I guess they've decided they don't want to modify the image and so will not be using it... |

Then he could add "Reinked for fading in 2023 - Art Adams" to the back of the board, etc etc It preserves the original team, original look, and ceases the fading. I fear, otherwise, it will be nearly invisible someday. I get the uncertainty in retouching published art, but I feel the ship is setting sail if not sailed already. No easy answer for an absolutely classic piece of art. While there are some who would disagree, I think this suggestion by Sean sounds great - same artist to preserve the piece to me is the way to go |

I recently showed 100 pieces from Trina's collection at the Society of Illustrators in NY. This piece is just astounding to me. The old style and (at the time) the current one. Trina told me that this was published as a pin-up around the time she was doing the "Legend of Wonder Woman" series (1987-ish) but I have never found it. This piece appears in the "History of the DC Universe" hardcover. I actually have George's prelim for this in my History of the DCU gallery https://cafurl.com?i=28219 |
