p.s. now that i look closer in pencil it even has a note to Dan to ink Kirby dots....

I believe this is inked by Dan Green, unless anyone can confirm or deny, it looks and feels like Green inks.

Yea man, no worries, he was a cool dude,I was a young teen with a hopeful future in comics... He was very 70's influenced I realised when I got older, Frazetta style I would say... There was a few comic artists living in the catskills( up state NY ) at that time to my knowledge, Dan Green, John Muth, J.M. This is pretty rad, Paul taught me basic comic art drawing on weekends in New Paltz way way back, like 91/92ish.  Cool to see the Rosendale PO box..

Great story, some of these pages mean alot to us. copngrats on securing it.  Un related, but I have a pretty sweet ASM #246 page that Dan Green gave my mom when I was a kid around '86??  Anyway, I still have it today, its a bit of an oddball in my mostly Bisley etc collection but it has a lot of personal memory to me, I couldnt ever let it go no matter what. 

Hold onto this one.  I definately remember this entire story as well, and will prbably go dig it up and re read it again.

A little late to chime in, but Ive had the pleasure of looking through his very serious Biz collection while making a purchase of the prelim line art of this piece.  These Doom Patrols covers were pivotal to my younger years.

thanks, I took a deep dive into Dave McKean's work and somewhere along the way I found a photo he had either in his studio or in a painting, i cant remeber, but I thought about it for about a week and tried to draw it from memory yesterday....

I have the same poster from wayyyy back, but it doesnt have the white boarder yours does and it folds in the middle to open up like this.

I might have mixed my memory wires up, I have another drawing that was published in that book, that Ive seen also in a painted version. Again Im guessing I mixed up a few different art vs book memories.  Thanks for the insight.
