I love Japan and I love Japanese people, but this page and its history is unfortunately part of both of our nations story. Trying to put myself in the shoes of the artist drawing this page at that time, and what must have been going on in his life and in his mind at the time, is just powerful. What a unique piece to a collection.

I just looked, this is a beauty, but its not exactly in the book, but if you look in the section called "The Cross" your piece does appear to be a prelim for a fully painted version of this piece, with rain drops comig down in a dark black background, and theres another version very close to this with some lightning bolts. I lover all the work in this book and all the prelims that didnt make it, I have a really nice piece that also didnt make it the book and I had to let go another piece that was also a prelim kind of piece that has similar pieces in the book. You can see them in my gallery if you snoop. ??

this was amazing issue when it came out, you had to mail away for it, I still have one opened and one completely sealed in the cardboard mailer. I loved the purple chrome on the cover. great catch.
Ive been wanting to get soemthing from Rich for a while and when the Vamp Hunter D stuff popped up I had to hop on one. I could have easily picked 10 diff pages, but I settled with this, Love the side profile in the top panel and the technical shadows on the bottom portion.... Classic Rich line work for the win.
whoever colored this project did a top notch job...
those pages are great, and even better thast you got some personal time and talk about them. can I ask where you picked those pages up and what you spent on them? I love those issues.

this is great, so is he inking over it on lightbox ? is there 2 final pieces? an inked and the OG pencils? the 2 work great together, the loose stylish ink over Ryan is a great combo.
Epic project with JM, Ive had many long talks about this project with Dan, he once emailed me all these pages with no dialogue in the way. This was such an epic work of art when i was a youngin. RIP Dan, you are missed indeed. 💔
