It was 'hiding' in a small collection of art that I had first looked at 8 years ago but at the time couldn't buy the whole collection. Luckily for me that 8 years on it was all still in the same folder ready for sale and this time I had the funds ! :-)

WoW! I'm normally not a fan of commissions but this... I'm not sure commission is the correct description , masterpiece is more like it, how often would you want/expect a small image of the main character? but on this occasion BRILLIANT. It look's like a piece that you have to stand well back from to truly take it all in!

I gave it away 10 years ago , over the years I regretted it (as you'd expect) luckily I'm still friends with who I gave it to and the time came to get it back (mainly because he had a tax bill to pay and I offered to help him out with it !)

Greg, I'm sure that there's a rule somewhere that will state that once you own a complete story of Hicklenton thats enough for one gallery and you should share the wealth , I know another CAF gallery that's desperate for a nice example :-)

David - couldn't agree more , I think it was listed as 2000AD art, I took it in part of a deal and a decent scan a bit of homework on it later and it looks much better now :-)

I couldn't agree more Gal, there's less than 2 years between the 2 Dave Taylor pages in my gallery ,but what a difference! Great to see that after Daves hiatus from comics that he still has it - Batman Death By Design is 15 years on from the LODTK page but it could be LODTK #101!

Roy, Gal , you're both correct Batman does indeed give Despero the beating he so obviously deserves! Although I must add that this is the 2nd time Bats has been captured and shackled by Despero in this storyline ! It's a real shame as the finished coloured/printed version from 1986 just doesn't do this page any justice at all!
